Great picture, could be the Banded Tiger Moth @Emjay , but I’m no expert though so not sure…
Morning all, dull and grey here.
Off to do our weekly shopping this morning and that’s about it.
Have a nice day all.
Morning all.
We have rain expected here again, so not sure when I can get over to my allotment. I have more flower buckets in my car so could recharge my drill and get holes put in them, ready to take down. I plan on using some inside pallet collars for herbs and maybe other crops, though in small quantities, obviously. Also have two bags of compost in the car.
I’ve put out a plea on our local social media group for more collars. The plan is to fill most of the currently dug part of the plot with the collars and buckets, to cut weed growth. As the lady next plot recommended, just grow anything this year. Yeah…I would if it stopped raining, lol.
A new allotment was always going to be a challenge Jan and all credit to you for taking it on, but even the weather isn’t helping you much! Good on you for sticking with it though, here’s hoping conditions improve for you…
Just back from the weekend Tesco shop and no agenda for the day other than waiting in for a couple of deliveries, but if the weather isn’t too bad I may pick the last of the blackcurrants.
Have a good day everyone
Going morning all.
It’s a bit cloudy here at the moment. I have given up trying to predict the weather. I don’t think it even knows what it wants to do.
At the moment I am plagued with those mini fruit flies. The bin men did empty the garden refuse bins yesterday, and I have just washed it out.
So as usual for a Friday, Morrisons for lunch with my daughter, and then dinner at her place later.
Hi
Good Morning All.
Very dull and breezy, but a dry day forecast, rain forecast for the next 5 days.
I have two young lads here later, doing some work for me in the garden, which will be fun.
I will have to train them, absolute beginners.
The soap operas continue, I only get the details second hand, but they keep me entertained.
I will continue later with these.
Enjoy your day.
Good morning everybody.
I’m meeting Beryl shortly ( the lady I met through ‘Yours’ magazine.)
We’re starting a gentle exercise class for over 50’s at the local leisure centre. We’ll have a coffee & a natter after the class I expect.
This afternoon - a trip to Aldi with Tony.
Have a good day all…
Ok. Must have spent just over two hours this morning, assembling, on my own, the framework for the greenhouse. So. As usual, just like an IKEA piece of furniture, I seem to have a piece missing, or put in the wrong place. And yes, it kept raining on me. Without its cover, I had no shelter and cba going to the car. I didn’t have the paper instructions of course, and had to keep referring to the photos online. Pfffft!!
So stage two. I need a stepladder to do the top pieces. I need to find out where I’ve gone wrong, or if I need to ask Wilko for a spare connector. I need to make sure all rods are pushed in tight. Then I can struggle with the cover.
Didn’t want to stop to take a photo. I’d had enough, by then, and headed home.
Had lunch, walked Holly, then walked round to the pharmacy. Still no missing med! Try again tomorrow. I said I will run out tomorrow. Which could leave me tearing about town to Boots or Superdrug for emergency tablets, not good. I won’t know till after 2 if they get it. I will be there as close to and will wait if I have to.
Hi
Good Morning All.
Hammering it down here and forecast the same all day.
I need the cashpoint, an expensive week ahead, having some work done and a birthday for a littlie.
My of my new helpers is local, a neighbour, the gossip is hillarious.
Have a good day all.
Morning all,
Got a ten hour shift ahead of me in hospitality today at a sports venue. The weather forecast is dire…oh well there’s a mini heatwave forecast for next week.
Don’t get struck by lightning today folks
Good morning everyone
Busy rainy day yesterday I took my oldest grandson to Wagamamma for lunch then to see the latest Mission Impossible film it was exciting nonsense as usual…he enjoyed it though so that’s what counts
Nothing much planned for today…in the garden if it doesn’t rain…fingers crossed. Have a great day everyone
Hi
So lovely to see another long term friend here.
Thanks a bunch.
Good morning all, not so good weather, rained last night, this morning its dull, grey and miserable and possibly rain soon.
Meeting up with an old work mate this morning in Town, hope it doesn’'t rain.
Have a nice day all.
Morning everyone and yep, tipping down here too with no letup in sight for an hour or three…
Just cleaned the bathroom instead of walking the dog, who refused to go out of the back door first thing, even for a wee… No plans for the rest of the day yet, but I do have a new model to start making if I fancy it, though I think I will have an hour or two with the papers first.
Have a good day peeps and hey, let’s be careful out there…
Morning all.
Some one has answered my plea for pallet collars so we are meeting outside the allotment path at 10 this morning. Once that is done (will take the car and park nearby) I will go off to one of the supermarkets for a few bits.
Not looking forward to this if still raining. Still not taken Holly out, as just finishing breakfast.
Good morning all .
As elsewhere it also rained in the night, and a bit this morning. But I ordered it to stop, so that I could do my usual quick walk around the field. Well it did. See, the sun shine’s on the righteous.
As for a Saturday morning, the laundry is in the dryer, and I am here doing this.
I expect that my daughter will come later and drag me out again.
I shall refuse to go if it is bucketing down.
So that’s 4 more pallet collars dropped off at my plot. When the weather changes (pfffft) I will work out where to put them and may order a few more soon. They were new and unused, and the right size. Bless them, the married couple carried two each from their car round to my plot.
Then on to Tescos.
Resting now with a cuppa and will take Holly out soon. Mind, she’s gone back up to bed. She’s not daft.
Good morning all, sunny here but chilly, with a max of 17°c forecast for later but then, it is only August…
Oscar has cut his pad so our walk was pretty short, we have bathed it and put some antiseptic on it so we’ll just have to see how it is later. Very few plans for the day other than the usual pottering around, and just soup and a roll out of the freezer for lunch.
Enjoy your day folks
Morning all, cold and windy outside, sun is trying to come out.
Nothing planned for today.
Sorry to hear about Oscar.
My mouth and jaw hurts where my filling has come out, can’t eat properly.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning everyone
It’s looking bright and sunny here in Yorkshire today a bit of a relief after all the rain
My daughter and my eldest grandson and one of his pals are coming today…if it stays nice we are having a picnic in the garden supplied by my daughter…her insistence at making it so that’s a bit different and it keeps me out of the kitchen. My son and his brood might turn up you never know doubtless they will have chatted
I hope Oscar is OK Barry…
Ha e a lovely Sunday everyone
