Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Morning all.

Emjay, if the printer is not fit for purpose insist on that refund. Good luck.

Cafe meet this morning then later a trip to the allotment. I have some soaking seed potatoes to go in and also some tomato plants from home, that I have no room for. I also now have the hose adapter for the tap, so I can try and fill a water butt. I have it leaning backwards for access with the watering can. I must, at some point, try and get some breeze blocks or bricks, to build a stand. I might also have to find a stake from somewhere to dig into the ground and have the butt tied to it. Stop it falling over again.

All good fun!

Why not just get a stand from B&Q Jan, not a lot of money and here’s a link. Sankey Water butt stand | DIY at B&Q

The one I bought in Wickes for Ā£11 was supposed to fit the small butt but didn’t. I am loath to spend Ā£17 on something that also may be useless.

Thanks anyway.

No problem Jan, hope the bricks and blocks work out for you. :slightly_smiling_face:

The continuing Argos saga.
I went back again this morning to where I got the printer from. Making this tale short, they still refused a refund.
So this is not the only Argos in my area. So I drove to Ravenside shopping estate. Just 1.3 miles from home. Went into the Argos there and five minutes later walked out with £49.99 cash refund.

Great news Emjay, at least you’ll know next time!

So the store is only as good as its staff? Well done Emjay.

Morning all, beautiful and sunny outside.

We are off into Lowestoft this morning, shops first, then Sea Front and Beach.

Good news there Emjay.

Have a nice day all.

Morning everyone, sunny here too after a thoroughly wet day yesterday which was great for the garden so no complaints.

We are off to Newstead Abbey (ancestral home of Lord Byron) today for a walk around the gardens and then a picnic by the lake.

Enjoy your day folks

Good morning all.
Very nice here, is the best way to describe the weather.
Already the school staff are erecting canopies and things on the field. I expect it is their sports day.
Off later to the AgeUK coffee and chat, and picking up my neighbour as she is coming as well.
This afternoon back again for the Ukulele class.

Morning all.

I had to Google the Abbey, Barry, to be perfectly sure, and believe it is where my nephew got married quite some years ago. It didn’t last, thankfully. I remember the grounds when we were outside for the photos.

We had rain yesterday so I didn’t get to the allotment. Nice and warm right now so if I can get the dog in from the garden soon would like to spend awhile over there.

Yes Jan Newstead is a nice place with lovely formal and informal gardens, and we go there quite often for a walk as it’s only a couple of miles from where we live.

Have a good day at the allotment, I just discovered blackfly on the runner and french beans, so I will have to go into battle with them later on…

I could only work for just over half hour! Too hot.

Home with my coffee, back door open and soon to hoover then shower.

Good afternoon everybody.

It’s lovely & bright here & my washing is blowing in the breeze.

Tony is out with Ady for the day but I’m not going far.

I have to prepare for my CT scan tomorrow which means drinking some awful tasting liquid & staying near the toilet.

Thanks for the well wishes. x

Good morning all, sun and cloud here, but very humid.

Not going out today, just relaxing, as I have done my back in, its killing me, just where I had my Surgery, hope i’m not going to have problems again with my Discs.

Got my Lady coming this morning to cut my toe Nails.

Carol, good luck today with the CT Scan.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Take it easy, Susie.

Carol, good luck for your procedure.

I need bread so am going to one of the supermarkets. Most likely Morrisons as I do love their salt and black pepper bloomer. But lately I have been enjoying a banana sandwich on 50/50 for supper, after having a big lunch. Can only get a small loaf of that in Tescos and don’t plan on going again just yet, so retail park it is.

I might also look in Argos, and get a sticky on black out blind for my bedroom window, for the morning sun. For the moment I have to keep my shutters partially closed till it moves round.

Also need to get back on the allotment, get the hoe out, if it stays cooler. I could only manage half hour yesterday morning so guess I went the wrong time of day.

Morning everyone, and good luck and fast healing to all of you that have medical problems…

Overcast here but very pleasantly warm, so verging on a perfect morning for our walk earlier. No plans for the day other than baking bread this morning and pottering about in the garden.

Wishing you all a pleasant day

Good morning all.
Dare I say ā€œus oldiesā€ do suffer. It comes with age I am told continuously.
I was reading about the effects of stinging nettles for arthritis. I have some in my garden jungle. Should I rub my hands in them and see the results?
Cleaning lady is back from her holiday, so I expect her here shortly.

I wouldn’t! The pain of nettle stings is dreadful.

Morning all.

Popping into Gorleston this morning.

Need to buy some more plants.

Have a nice day all.
