Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

And a good morning from me too…

Not so cold last night so hopefully no more night frosts for a while.

Just have the freezer to defrost this morning, then I may spend the afternoon pottering in the garden.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning all.
Minnie and I have been walked. I can’t make up my mind what the weather is going to do this morning.
I shall be going to the Wednesday coffee and chat group later, but I would like to go on my Brompton bike.
I think I am ready for it, as I have been riding it around the car park, and yesterday I went up and down the road.
I have raised the saddle as much as I can, and can still reach the ground, and the knee is not too bad now.

Good morning everybody.

Thanks Janet - I am just so clumsy.

This morning I’m walking with my friend Chris in our local country park followed by lunch in Tesco’s cafe.

Ady is picking us up about 3.30 after Josh has come from school & taking us to Newark. The reason for this is that I have an MRI scan in Newark hospital at 6.20 but Ady plans on taking us a look around the town first. The scan is following my severe bout of indigestion & nausea a few weeks ago. They said blood tests showed I have an ‘impaired’ liver function & the scan is needed to confirm…

After my scan we will all go for a meal somewhere.

Have a good day all…

Good luck with the scan, Carol.
I spent ages trying to assemble the garden storage box, took it back, but a member of staff did it in about 2 minutes! Argh. It is now on the allotment, doing its job.

Fed Holly, shall wait an hour then take her for her vac.

Tried to reach The Samaritans earlier. They were busy as never got replies, first 6 minutes and then second for 3 minutes. Police sirens Ambulances have been around 5 times already tiday.

Was crying my eyes out as just like the song “Two out of three ain’t bad” from Meatloaf…

Had two disappointments already, one last week, one yesterday and believe it or not, the third one landed in my email today!!!:angry::angry::tired_face::sob::sob::sob:

PS If you’re into prayers, please have one for wee old me, thank you?

@Supernatural Have you thought of seeing a Counselor, your GP could put you in touch with one ,it seems to me your memories of that time are still raw in your mind , And every day issues are blowing out of proportion . You can hang on to those memories and make yourself miserable , or you can put them aside and move on , moving on doesnt mean forgetting you hubby, remember the good times .

@Carol , hope all went well for your MRI Scan …

Thanks to everyone who wished me well over the MRI can. It was quite comfortable & not as noisy as others I’ve had.
I expect the doctor will phone me with the results but I don’t know when. The problem I had that precipitated the scan seems to be ok now. (touch wood)

Before going to the hospital we had a walk round the town looking at all the interesting buildings. Newark is a lovely town.

After my scan we went to Wetherspoons. I was ready for something to eat & drink & enjoyed fish & chips…

It’s been a busy day for me as this morning I walked 3 miles with Chris round the nature reserve…

Time for bed me thinks…

Nothing to do with hubby’s death but with idiots that don’t do their jobs correctly.

When I crossed my Ts and dit my Is but these nupties make ne lose money that when I get upset.

Doctors aren’t going to help with the frustrations of incompetence within the workforce too frequently happening lately.

Thanks!

Good morning all, nice and sunny here at the moment.

Off out at 8am to do our weekly shopping then at 10am Doctors Surgery for Diabetes Check Up.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all, no frost here last night but pretty cool at just 3°C…cloudy this morning and rain later they say which is no bad thing, as I put weed 'n feed granules on the lawn yesterday so they need watering in.

Just visiting my youngest daughter this morning to do a couple of odd jobs, then call in on Mum on the way home before a trip to Aldi this afternoon.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning all.
Minnie got me up a bit earlier this morning. So done my morning chores already.
Looks like the weather can’t make up its mind. It was sunny earlier, but now it is clouding over.
Got the cleaning lady coming this morning. She did text me to tell me. She was not well last week so my daughter and I did some of it.
At the coffee and chat yesterday, we were informed of future activities. Next month they are starting Ukulele classes. One of the guys and I might do it. They supply the instruments and will be allowed to take them home to practice.

Actually, yes I do. Cousin said she prayed and today in morning everything went great.

Last papers filled up and mailed off. Went back to Argos and this time got a floor manager who knew his job perfectly well.

Got my two uplifts organised and the new fridge/freezer that’ll fit the space around my U-shaped staircase.

He noticed in the bill that the delivery call date was screwed up. He asks what my situation was, I explained, he went to phone them up, it was a heated conversation, I tell you.

Came back with promised delivery and to come see him if there’s any problems but he said they wouldn’t be any after he spoke to the manager. So fingers-crossed, I’ll get it on 2 May.

The talk with Samaritans lady was so helpful and brought a huge relief as she was able to feedback on situation as she’s been in a similar one before.

Finally, a bit of unexpected news, I received 13 visits to my Milkshake Author’s website, encouraging :slightly_smiling_face:.

Anyone else around here experiencing cold weather? I’ve had to put the heating back up today. It felt as if I’d ice down into my core. Brrrr :sneezing_face::cold_sweat::sweat::snowflake:

Am looking forward to a quieter weekend!

Morning all.

As it’s raining, and no chance for the allotment, I might go to the library. I have a book ready for collection and am not bothered about reading the five I have. So a complete change I think.

Should be getting a phone call from the practice nurse some time today. Hope I hear the phone.

Morning everyone, rain here to after rain all night, but it will wash in the weed 'n feed that I spread on the lawn very nicely thank you…

Just back from the Tesco shop and nothing on my agenda other than cooking lunch, doing a bit more on my jigsaw and maybe catching a film this afternoon, a real lazy day in fact…

Have a pleasant day folks

Good morning all.
It rained a lot yesterday evening and night. It’s stopped now, so it would have been a nice usual morning stroll. But Minnie has decided that she don’t want to walk far. Poor girl is not very well. The eye does not seem to be getting any better. She now has a small growth on her back leg. That is the same leg where they took the toe off because of the growth that was there.
I have an appointment with the PDSA on Tuesday morning.
I expect it will be a usual Friday. Lunch at Morrison and dinner at my daughter.
She is running around with her FIL this morning, taking him to the hospital for a blood test.

Good morning everybody.

Just to say my MRI scan was for a suspected gallstone blocking & impairing my liver function.

My symptoms were severe indigestion & vomiting. This went on over a three week period & now it’s ok. I’m praying it doesn’t come back… Hoping for the scan results soon.

Well, today we’re going to see our grand daughter Holly & our new great grandson baby Louie.

Later Ady is dropping Josh off for an overnight stay as both he & Paula are doing a night shift.

I’ve been going round sticking double sided tape on all the cupboards I don’t want him to open. He’s very mischievous & thinks nothing of dropping my china bits & pieces on the floor & smashing them. He’s 10 years old & his autism is getting increasingly worse. He just doesn’t understand! We all adore him though as he also has some very endearing habits.

I will need eyes in the back of my head!

Have a good day all…

New member saying hello.
Today started at 4am as I drove to work. I like to arrive half an hour early so I can have a coffee and read the on line news.
Fridays are 12 noon finish so we get an early start to the weekend. 11.30 comes along and the boss comes down with an urgent job for a customer. Can we cut the job, clean it, bag it and notify the customer that the job is ready for collection.
All tasks completed by 1.15pm. Thinking about going home when a truck arrives to collect 2 steel plates that were dropped off the day before. Two, 32 mm x 2485 mm x 8000 mm plates to be loaded. Each plate weighed 4987 kg - 10,994 lb.
Plates loaded, ready to go home, a truck arrives with a steel plate to be unloaded. Simple 2 minute forklift job.
Finally knock off work at 2pm.
I go to Coventry Village for lunch which was a serving of Biryani Rice and a freshly cooked Paratha. Wow, spicy hot but delicious.
Whilst eating lunch, doing a crossword puzzle my phone rings. It is car salesman Gerrard, “Can you be here at 4pm? Your new car has just arrived”
“Sure thing.”
I rock up and collect my new car, MG ZS Excite - Blue.
On my way home I call into the library to take out some movie DVDs.
Arrive home at 5pm.
That was my day. How was yours?
