Good morning all.
Yes I am riveted Jan.
I also just had to put new batteries into my heating controller. I have just turned on the heating for a while as it is cold in the house.
Loverly blue sky out, sun shining, but very cold. Showing 11c out on my weather station.
Already got a bread making, and later going to cook another secret recipe for my chicken soup. 2 chicken thighs, carrots, onion, and 2 stock cubes, pinch of pepper.1 litre water. Cook on low light for 1 hour.
Yummy yummy.
Morning everyone and good luck with your chores, mine are few today with just some veg to pick for lunch and a trip to the tip.
Enjoy your day folks
Good morning all and one. Heavy rain all day yesterday and thunder in the night, but it is a bright and lovely sunny day by here in contrast on the Riviera today.
I slept well last night, possibly helped by some home produced cider, made from apples off our one tree, and the juice squeezed in my fruit press I bought two years ago.
The cider was very slightly on the tart side for my taste, so I need to add a bit more sugar to the rest of the batch, but otherwise I am please with my second attempt. I used proper cider yeast this time whereas I used wild yeast when I first tried it.
The fruit juice I make though is beautiful and naturally sweet. The only problem is where to keep forty litres of the stuff without it fermenting. There are a lot of plastic milk bottles full of the stuff taking up precious space in the freezer at the moment.
I hope none of them leak again else I will be in trouble. It doesnât quite set solid and makes a sticky mess when that happens.
We shall be paying a lady to come and beat us up today. My Lovely Cousin calls it a physio massage, but I know better.
I changed a radiator valve yesterday that was stuck in the fully on position, but a decree has been sent out by the Chancellor of the Handbag that today is a day of rest, lest it undo all the good work of the beasting I shall soon receive.
Rained heavy and my water Butt is full again ,Was up twice in the night to let dog out to toilet .
I needed help in getting the Curtain Pole up , but its in place and curtains hanging now , ready for a sleep over next month when Daughter and Grandson come to stay.
I booked a Flu jab yesterday for the coming Monday at the local Pharmacy after not hearing nothing from my GP surgery .
Today I will continue to dig a shrub up that has died , roots are firmly in the ground and Ive had 2 goes at it now so third time lucky me hopes .
Ooh thatâs better. Iâve just paid a lady to come to our house and beat me up because I enjoy that sort of thing âŠ
My Lovely Cousin calls it a physiotherapy massage though.
Had to swap my duvet to the winter variant this morning.
Wh has no one come up with a simple way of putting the duvet cover on, i am sure one day it will be the death of me.
Good morning all, looks like the sun is trying to come out.
Nothing planned for the day.
Got a Whole Chicken roasting in the oven at the moment.
Have a nice day all.
Just been out to do the feeders and without a doubt that great Scottish word describes the weather perfectly and that is dreich.
Some of the manufacturers of duvet covers have come up with a solution â the âlongâ side uses Velcro so easy to slide the duvet in, or the cover over the duvet and secure the two sides using the Velcro. That would have been my answer many yearsâ ago, I never thought any more of it until I believe the idea was used and someone, not me unfortunately, patented the idea and made a lot of money out of it!
I have seen them with zips but I can see that being uncomfortable. But it is easy enough to get the first corners in but it is all the followng shakng the damn thing so the duvet settles into the cover.
This is a new duvet as the laundromat managed to give mbe to anotger customer whole decided to keep it so i was given a new one and it is very cosy.
We have a large duvet so always put the cover on together .
Still struggle with shaking the darn thing down
Not easy for singletons though!
on the subject of Duvets ive always changed mine solo , having to go from one side of the bed to the other is the faffing about i dont like .
I managed to get the dead shrub up yesterday and in its place I transplanted a Red Robin from where it lived , fingers crossed now that the shock of moving it doesânt kill it .
Nothing planned other than cleaning , washer is on its second load and first is in the tumble dryer .
trying to get it all done before the clock switches over from E7 night to day .
Raining here and heating came on , so colder again today .
Too right takes me ages to do it on my own .
Another bear bug is our mattress itâs so blooming heavy there will come a time when I canât lift it to put the sheets on .
Good morning all, raining here and forecast to get heavier for a few hours before brightening late afternoon.
Just nipping into town for Rosemary to return a couple of things to Marks, then an hour with my mum to arrange to do some cleaning for her.
Enjoy your day everyone
p.s. regarding the duvet, I used to struggle with it too but now it only takes me half an hour, eazypeasy
Good morning all.
Just starting to rain here. Was ok when I did my morning stroll with Minnie around the fields.
Duvet covers? Yes it is an art changing them. I have seen so many ideas on how to do it. My friend when she is here has it off pat, as her family ran a guest house many years ago.
I put on my âtigerâ blanket over the duvet last night. So I was not cold.
No plans yet for today, might get the vacuum cleaner out later. If I use it or not is another decision I might have to make.
Furlough ends today .
ÂŁ68 billion
A huge debt for the next generation
What was the alternative?
I donât know but lots of small companies fell outside of furlough and had to keep going yet they will have to suffer increased taxation .
The government will be looking for ways to recuperate this money .
Plus lots of people will lose their jobs some companies will go bust and make their employees redundant and will have to retrain in order to find work .
Morning all.
I used to use pegs when changing a duvet. Bring the duvet inside up to the top, peg together, both sides, then shake. Nowadays I donât have pegs in the house so have not bothered with that. I just go round the bed several times, until itâs on both sides.
Very cold here this morning. Gave in and put CH on for awhile.
As it is too cold to go out, I will look for a spare HDMI cable, (in my spare bedrooms) as one in my tv might be loose. My tv keeps cutting out for a second or so. Flipping annoying.
I will also knock up a cauli/macaroni cheese. Cheating, as the cauli cheese was bought from Tescoâs, chilled. Might make enough for 2 days meals, see if any cauli ch left over to freeze.
