Had a bad night with Ellie , she was swallowing constantly, and burping , I think its acid reflux ,this is the second bad attack , Ive fed her some rice , and she and i managed a few hours sleep .
I had to go out with her when she needed the toilet , heavy rain , so glad of my wet weather coat .
Cafe meet shortly but they are all dropping like flies! One or two are ill, one has had bad news so their companion will sit with them. One has a repairman coming. One has their dog groom, so not sure if their neighbour/companion will be there.
I think, you have five or six working days in the week, how come you all choose the day we have our weekly meet up? I reckon there could be only three of us, unless two more possibles turn up. Waiting for one more response on Whatsapp, but it could end up with just three of us this week. Sigh.
Been a tad windy for our dog walks. Yesterday early evening Holly enjoyed seeing all the people out for Halloween, then the last walk after 9 was rather uncomfortable. Same for this morning. I never heard any wind in the night though, but did see some wheely bins blown over this morning.
Tried to attempt some writing but my Word software played up. Had to reboot computer but donāt know if itās working ok now.
Iām feeling a bit better but still coughing & breathless, so taking it easy.
I didnāt get to sleep very early last night so spent some time on Tescoās website at 2.00am doing a food order. I did it click & collect & Ady will pick it up for me Thursday morning. They only charge Ā£1.25 & itās all packed & ready to collect. I hate shopping so have thought I may do this all the time once Iām on my feet againā¦
I promised Tony a short walk round the park so am now going to make an effort for him.
He is so used to me organising him & taking him places but at least he can see me & talk to me even if Iām not very livelyā¦
Sounds like you are doing all the right things Carol, but the cough can take a while to get rid of. My doctor said it can remain for up to a month after the infection has cleared, but it gets less as each week passes.
Hope you are feeling much better soon.
Wow, Twinkā¦but at least that info might reassure Carol, that it could be the norm for that kind of illness. Do continue to take it easy.
Just some pottering about the house for me today, probably. Kettle needs descaling. Could do some washing. There will be some writing to do (100 words daily target). And getting back to my library book (Sophie Kinsella).
Good morning all.
Blue sky but cold.
I had a better night but what with the knee, I think I over did it on the exercise bike yesterday, as it is aching a bit this morning.
Off to the coffee and chat group shortly.
Iāve just been sorting out the ironing ready for the ironing lady to collect it.
Thereās 10 of Tonyās shirts & 8 of my tops (The ones that are hard to iron)
2 pairs of Tonyās trousers - cotton blend - hard to iron.
20 items in total. I donāt know how much it will cost. She told me she charges Ā£13 an hour.
I shall use her until Iām able to do it myself. Donāt want to bother family with it.
Ady had just collected Tony and taken him for a chip cob & some beer. maybe a little walk too.
I am now going to make an effort to get dressed before the ironing lady comes. Iāve not been out of my night clothes since returning from hospital.
Iāve made a sausage casserole which is simmering in the slow cooker so altogether I think Iām a bit better.
I just had a chat with the doctor on the phone & he told me Iām not at all contagious so I can go back to my own bed.
Hurrah - I was afraid of giving it to Tony.
Thanks for the advice & encouragement re: my health. I was worried about the cough not going but it will take time.
I have a man coming to service the Boiler today ,a local man who came last year ,he also sorted the radiator s , which needed balancing ā¦
Ive been sorting furniture which is surplus to my requirement, and a Ikea Chest of drawers which I was giving away , went within 5 min of advertising it and collected within the Hour yesterday .
Im going to advertise an Ikea Table ,my son said to put a price on it , Im not sure it would go so quick ,
People like things for free.
I tried giving it to 2 Charities but they say they have plenty of Tables !
Im still sorting Hubbys stuff out , theres 4 Guitars in the loft and loads of Airfix kits , I may try advertising them .
just washing my bedding and the washer is not leaking now so I may have sorted it ā¦
Itās raining here, argh! So dog and I will get wet on her first walk. Then shortly after, we have to get to her dog groomers, I will go off to Aldi and see if sis comes back from a trip to B&Q to pop in to her. If she is not back I might go off to Morrisons for a cuppa and wait,
God morning all.
Rain, rain, and more rain.
On my command it eased off a bit so that Minnie and I could do our usual stroll around the fields.
I have my cleaning lady coming this morning. She has not been too well lately, so she will do what she can do.
There is another ātea coffee and chat groupā that we were told about yesterday. It is very local, and this afternoon from 1-3. I might pop along to see what it is about.
Madam was quick to do her business so we soon got back indoors. I had to rummage in the car boot for my shoes, as had to put wellies on. Everything hanging up to dry with the dehumidifier going.
@Carol I moved to a 2 bed Bungalow from a 3 bed House,at first I didnt know where to put everything , so had to decide on what to keep and what to get rid of ā¦
I like not having stairs, and less rooms to clean, and less windows to clean ā¦and it was a God send when i broke my leg I didnt have the stairs to go up at bed time and bath time ā¦
I have woke up earley the last two mornings , Ive had a Belly Pork meal cooking in the slow cooker since 4am, its a new recipe and I dont think Ive ever had Belly Pork .Im looking forward to trying this.
Good morning all.
Rather late today, but then whoās counting?
Blue sky and sunshine, but cold.
When I took myself and Minnie out, the grass was being cut on the fields. They only did the white lines for the football pitches on Wednesday. Now they have gone. Oh such good organisation of the council.
No cooking for me today, although I have a bread making now. Daughter and I will be lunching at Morrisons, and this evening dinner at her place.
I decided itās time I got dressed today so for the first time in 2 weeks Iām not in my dressing gown.
Iām pottering around but not doing much. I made some leek & potato soup yesterday & weāve just had some for lunch but found it a bit bland - eatable though (or drinkable)
My ironing lady has just delivered my nicely ironed clothes - Ā£25, not bad I suppose considering there were 20 items and all hard to iron!!
Sue has just arrived & taken Tony a walk down to the chemist to pick some prescriptions up & also to call at the co-op & post a letter for me. When she returns weāll have coffee & a chat.
Sheās agreed to take Tony for his flu jab tomorrow. Of course I canāt have one - donāt know when/if Iāll be able to.
Re: Moving house. Iām putting the idea on hold for the time being. I think next spring will be a nice time to put the wheels in motion. I donāt think Tony will take much persuading especially as Iāve decided to stay near to āhomeā - maybe just a few streets away from where we are now.
