Looks a good haul @Emjay . I prefer them raw but they’re a bugger to peel and get the pith off underneath so it’s rare that I bother, although the ground in the woods that we walk in are covered in them at the moment…
Well a rotten night for me. Up n down to the commode like every half hour. Unable to get comfortable. Felt too hot, then cold. Took some paracetamols, must have eventually got some sleep and got up at 8.20. Must get cracking though as friends coming here at 11, when I will collect Holly. I’m not ill, it’s just how it was. I often get nights like that.
Won’t bother with my planned cooked breakfast, can’t face it. Hope to enjoy my carvery lunchtime.
Brother just phoned with SiL update. She has been ill in hospital all week, but brother says she still isn’t well, on antibiotics, and was a mystery to the doctors. (Won’t bore you with the details.)
Good morning all.
Here also had a bad night. I tried everything short of praying.
So rather late and just managed my walk with Minnie as the football mob arrived.
My daughter wants to drag me out to a new sort of market on the local main road.
It would mean for me getting a bus there.
Thinking about it.
A man goes into a bar and sits beside a beautiful woman. After a short time he looks at his watch very intensely and the woman notices, so asks him “why are you studying that watch”?
he replies “well it is a special watch and talks to me by sending thoughts to my brain”.
so she says “what is it telling you now”?
He replies " is says you have no knickers on"
“yes I do have knickes on so you watch is faulty” she said
“No its not” he says “its an hour fast”
bet this is move or removed but I thought it funny
What a morning Heavy rain and dark skyes ,last evening i was taken out to Darley Dale in the Peak District for Fish and Chips by my son .Its something we use to do as a family .After eating we made our way back home .
Ive nothing planned for to day ,looks like the rains in for the day .
Good morning all.
Lightning and thunder earlier, followed by heavy rain. (Why do people say “ thunder and lightning” when you get the lightning first?)
I ordered the rain to stop so I could take Minnie out, and it did.
Yesterday I met my daughter and grandson at north Chingford where they had a sort of food festival in the station car park.
Loads of foreign muck, and not any fish and chips to be seen.
Not got anything planed yet for today, so will just let it happen.
Morning all, rain8ng here again but hopefully will ease later…
Just the Monday Tesco for me shortly and I’ll be making pie and mash for lunch, but nothing else planned as yet, although the hound could do with a trim if I’m really struggling for a job later…
Good morning everybody.
I just got out of bed to make myself a drink & thought I’d pop on here.
Nothing is any different. The pneumonia is still raging through my body. I’m thinking it may be possible that the antibiotics aren’t going to work for me.
I’ve been lying awake since 5.00am & very depressed to see it still dark at 7.00am. I hate this time of year!!
Ah well - back to bed now until Tony brings me my breakfast in bed - it’s always toast & coffee. Bless him. He can’t do anything else.
Tony is bewildered by all this & can’t even remember me going in hospital with a heart attack.
I am trying to look after him from my sick bed & have arranged for his sister to take him out for an hour or two this afternoon. She will pick him up outside.
I have deliberately told the family to all keep away. I don’t want to give my present illness to anybody. Not sure how contagious pneumonia is but not taking any chances.
I hope you all have a lovely day in spite of the awful weather.,
Stay warm and rested, Carol. Maybe think about calling someone, seeing if you do actually need a change in a/b. Poor Tony. It must be so worrying for you, trying to see to and reassure him and then trying to recover yourself. Hope you see an improvement soon. Hugs from me too.
Nothing planned for me today, apart from walking round to the pharmacy, see if my repeat meds are ready. And I have some washing to fold up and put away. And empty out the tumble dryer of water and fluff. Ooops, all the little jobs are starting to mount up,
Good morning all
Such a dark wet morning , @Carol sending my best wishes for a quick recovery .
Ive just had an early delivery , so now I can go to the village shop if I need to .
I think I shall put the stew pack in the slow cooker and have that for Tea. time …
My heating has come on without me touching it so the temp must have dropped in the rooms .
Good morning all.
And I think I have problems. I hope you get better soon Carol.
I am also lateish this morning. I just don’t why I am being deprived of sleep.
Of course it is down to my knee replacement. I just can’t seem to get it comfortable at times.
Off shortly to Sainsbury’s for a few bits.
Carol I feel so sorry for you. It can’t be easy feeling so ill when Tony is the only one to care for you. Chest infections like pneumonia take time to get rid of, but if you feel that the antibiotics are not working, please call your doctor before the weekend.
Pneumonia tends to be worse when you already have health problems so, please don’t take any chances because you already know that your lovely family will look after Tony if you need to be back at the hospital.
Hoping you will be on the mend soon!
