Good morning all @Emjay hopfully they will spray some numbing gel round your Staples before extraction . @Barry Hope your Mum recovers and allowed out of Hospital
I have no plans for today, wishing all poorly ones get well soon .
My appointment yesterday at the musculoskeletal clinic (re: my trapped nerve & sciatica) went very well. I was with her 45 minutes. It was a late afternoon appointment so a good thing nobody else was waiting to see her.
After a very thorough examination and answering dozens of questions. She recommended I see a consultant at the Derby Royal Hospital Spinal unit with a view to spinal injections or surgery.
She also went over the scan results with me showing 2 discs that were bulging, one artery that was narrowing & some arthritis in my lower spine. She also watched me doing the exercises I have been doing, told me the good ones & the not so good & suggested a few new ones.
I now have to wait for an appointment at the spinal unit but there’s a 16 week wait!!
I feel so lazy today so I’m going to do nothing but laze about.
Hi everyone and thanks for your messages regarding my Mum. She is doing OK but they are keeping her in to be on the safe side until Monday, when they will hopefully carry out a surgical procedure to solve her problem. After that who knows, she is 93 and has been completely independent until now, but we think she will be needing some help in the mornings and evenings now so we are going to try and put a care package together for her to keep her in her home for as long as she wants to be there, and is safe to be there. Thankfully there are three of us siblings so we should be able to do most of the heavy lifting, with professional help just a couple of times a day… unknown territory though so we’ll just have to play it by ear. Be good to see her home again though…
Good morning all.
Progressing slowly. I have been using the crutches and at times can manage with just one. I can even hobble without any.
I had the staples out yesterday, and was not as painful as I thought it would be. The nurse had to put a couple of those little plaster things in one spot, and another big plaster over the knee, that I can take off on Sunday.
There was some welcome rain yesterday evening, bright and cloudy now.
Good morning all
I watched all Episodes of The Terror yesterday on Iplayer and what a good series it was ,
History and fiction .
Its over cast here . rain is still needed my waterbutts are almost dry , saving the gutter rain
served me well . @Emjay I found it easier to hobble around without the crutches It left my hands free to carry things like my cup and dinner to the table …
Good morning all
It was 20c at 7pm when we went on an evening walk last night , the air was still and it was most enjoyable.
Expecting a parcel this morning which was delayed with the Postal strike , a Post woman Im told the mother of a freind earns £40.000 a year .
A trip to the library for me, I have a reserved book that is ready for collection, and some to go back. Might also walk round the town as well, but I dare say by the time I get there Susie would be on her way home.
Morning all. Overcast and cool. Awaiting to hear whether I’ve got an online tuition today or not. Bit of general tidying around the garden, safe in the knowledge that my green wheelie bin is odour free after its pressure wash and overnight soak in jeyes fluid, followed by another jet wash.
Hope you’re able to mill around the house a bit @swimfeeders, and take in the horrors that nature has created in your garden.
