Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning all.
So far all is well. I managed to do most things without the help of my daughter, although she was on hand if needed.
Got myself dressed, even managed to put on those pressure stockings, came down and make my breakfast.
Whilst in hospital they fitted handrails on the stairs. Very useful for me. (Got a picture somewhere).
She has organised a cleaning lady for me, sort of a friend of a friend, that will be here next week. We have met her and seems pleasant enough.

Good morning all
There was a nip in the air earlier , a sure sign of Autumn.
Nothing planed today other than houshold chores , and a delivery ive just remembered .

I might finish clearing the summer bedding on the front garden , they are past their best .

Have a wonderful day .

Morning all,
Good to see you’re doing well @Emjay - but heck, that bruise is something else!

Taking a drive out to M&S food hall a few miles away to pick up a clothes delivery - we went to an out of town M&S when we visited Torquay last week and I couldn’t get what I wanted in my size, so ordered online to pick up locally. But it was good to be able to choose from actual clothing on a rack, not an online photo, which tells you nothing about the quality, or feel of the garment.

Want to make a spinach and ricotta puff pastry slice for my daughter and granddaughter, so she doesn’t have to cook when she gets home from Looe later this afternoon. Might have a bit myself too!

Good morning all.
Another day, and another day of trials.
I do manage to do quite a bit without help.
I can make my breakfast, and even wash up.
Hallelujah, may I be praised. I actually HAD A SHOWER this morning.
The first one since the first Thursday a week ago when I went into hospital.
Weather is good here, but I only see it out the window.

Morning all.

Emjay, glad to see you doing well. Bet you enjoyed that shower.:grin:

Nothing much on my agenda for today. Walk round to pharmacy, see if my repeat meds are ready. Other than that, who knows? Depends on the weather, I expect.

Morning everyone, just back from our walk and having a brew and an hour with the paper before deciding what to tackle next, which will possibly include a trip to Morrisons for some spuds and a few jars of Rosemary’s favourite marmalade. Not much else on the agenda other than trimming the dog and cooking fish fingers and chips for lunch, such a tough life

Good to hear you’re on the mend @Emjay , but keep doing those exercises mate, it will pay dividends in the long run

Enjoy your day peeps

Afternoon all.

Keep up the good work Emjay, you will soon be on your bike again.

Went out window shopping this morning, now back home.

Have a nice day all.

Barry. Have you had any experience of this sort of op? Yes I know I must do the exercises. Even when on my electric lounger, I am doing the lifting leg, sliding back and forth. In the instructions they say 3 times a day, and it does get easier, as I am doing more than that.
Although I am still using the Zimmer, my daughter keeps telling me that I seem to be doing more. Going up and down stairs is a doddle.

Not the knee but both hips replaced Emjay, and it’s a fact that the more you do the exercises and work the joint then the speedier the recovery and the greater the benefit longterm. They say the knee is much the longer recovery as it’s a more complicated joint but it sounds like you are doing great, so keep up the good work and you’ll be back out with Minnie in no time

Thanks Barry.

Well done Emjay, I can go out and do most things now since my surgery, but still can’t go up and down stairs properly.

Morning folks.

Plans for today? Erm, cooking a roast meal (lunchtime, hopefully), the usual dog walks, see if I can book a slot at the tip, so I can empty my car boot. And maybe switch on the PC, to find something to submit for the writing group attendance on Tuesday.

And whatever time I have left in the day, to sit with my library book.

Keep up the good work, Emjay. You seem to be doing quite well.

Good morning all

The Car alarm went off last night , I peered out but didnt see anything untowards .
I shall go a walk today, taking my Camera with me .
Enjoy your Roast @Jazzi
Have a wonderful day

Good morning all.
Yet another day of expected excitement. Yea bring it on.
I can walk a few steps without the Zimmer frame but I just lift it and hold it in front of me. I t is just a matter of confidence.
The worst part is in bed, just trying to find a spot that is comfortable for the leg.
I find that putting one of the pillows just under the knee is best.
The weather is not too bad, but it don’t matter what it is doing, as being confined to barracks.

Morning all,

@Emjay, sounds as if you’re progressing well, but I do sympathise about the difficulties of getting comfortable in bed. Many years ago I injured my back and I spent 6 months dreading the nights, because I simply couldn’t find a comfortable position to sleep. I regularly slept downstairs sitting up on the sofa, legs up on the pouffe. I hope it eases for you soon.

No real plans for today, but it’s dry and the sun’s breaking through, so I’ve got the bedding in the machine and will be able to line dry it.

Morning folks.

What a chilly one it is too! I am sitting by my bedroom window, having drunk my first cuppa of the day, and have had to shut the window. Usually I am half closing the shutters against the bright sun. Lots of grey clouds up above, too.

Plans?
Erm, maybe another roast meal, pork slices again, use them up.
Switch on the PC, cull the spam emails, sort out something for the writing group tomorrow.
Water the plants, seeing as there is no blazing sun.

And whatever else turns up that needs doing.

Have a nice Bank Holiday Monday.

Good morning all.
Bank holiday Monday. Just yet another day for me.
A bit more comfortable night and finding a good position for the leg.
The weather here don’t look all that promising, I can see lots of heavy clouds.
TV and reading via the Kindle, for my entertainment today.
It seems that the bruising is starting to go, so my daughter says, and takes a photo to prove it.
Want to see the before and after? Yes I thought you might.

I should add. Thursday 22 and today.
