Well the weather app says it’s marginally cooler today, but honestly it doesn’t feel like it. I’m still a hot, sweaty mess, it’s so humid. But at least we have had some rain - not a downpour, just drizzle, but lovely nevertheless, and so needed. There’s more forecast later, and tomorrow and Wednesday, but annoyingly the thunderstorms that had been forecast for today are now not going to happen, grrrr. I do love a good thunderstorm!
I might make the cushion today that I’ve been thinking about, from the leftover pieces from the memory bear I made. Seems such a shame to waste so much of the shirts Lou gave me, so I thought a patchwork cushion, with embroidery in one of the squares would be a nice little extra for her. I’ve done the embroidery, which reads “These are some clothes I used to wear, Hug me tight and know I am there.” Knowing me, though, it probably won’t get done today, I’m feeling pretty lethargic in this heat and humidity,
Good morning all.
2 more days and counting. Er, should I count Thursday as well?
The knee don’t seem to hurt as much, but that is typical.
Off to Sainsbury’s shortly and I am going to stock up on lots of things as I don’t know when I will be able to get out again. But I will still have my daughter to get what I need,
Weather here is very close, so we had a couple of heavy showers yesterday.
Looks like more rain or the promised thunderstorms today.
I’m just having breakfast & then off to a 9.00am session in the swimming pool. I don’t really like it this early but I’ve made a promise to myself to get at least three pools sessions in a week. I have the vague idea it might help my sciatica!
I’ll be home just as Tony’s getting up & then I’ll see what he want’s to do…
Morning all. Cool.and overcast. Going to do a bit more work on my driveway before an online lesson around lunchtime. Also go to go to the tip (we have to do this every fortnight since the wheelie bins are 120l instead of 240, and they’re not big enough for our needs).
Mrs Dex is out with some friends for lunch, do will be a peaceful afternoon slouching around for me.
Morning everyone,
Well what a difference from a few days ago - it’s dreary, overcast and raining. Grateful for the rain, though, and the drop in temperature, as I was really struggling with the extreme heat.
We’re off out mattress shopping later, with our daughter. She had the idea of having a second mattress to put on the floor under her daughter’s mid sleeper bed. She has a tiny house, and has to maximise every inch of space, so this would be a great way of accommodating friends for a sleepover, while still leaving her space for her little ‘hideaway’ under the bed.
What a rush to the surgery just now, when I realised I had got my time wrong. It was 9.20, not 9.45. Got there in time as traffic was very light so no hold ups. And thankfully no train in the station, because then the gates go down and traffic backs up. My surgery is right next door.
Having a sit down to get my breath back, then will go to the cafe. Will take Holly, since I’d dashed out and left her. Won’t be many of us this week.
Good morning all.
We did have a nice few showers here yesterday. The forecast says more to come today.
I have no plans to go anywhere today, as I need to stay safe for the big day tomorrow.
I already had to do a covid test yesterday, and photo it, also got to do one tomorrow and also photo it.
I picked another load of apples, and shall peel, cook, and freeze later this morning.
We had a good rainfall last night. It came so heavy the main road was flooded for a short time.
It’s dull & overcast here this morning but still warm.
My sciatica has been hurting a lot so I’ve cancelled my day out with Chris. Another two weeks until I get the scan results…
I’m just going to potter about doing odd jobs today - I want to spray a garden ornament white & have a few cupboards to sort out. I don’t intend overdoing it. What is retirement for? lol
Eliza, I love your canal side pictures. They’re great.
Good morning all ,
We had persistent rain through the night and still on going now , Im thinking IF ONLY it had rained on Saturday, a young man of 39 would not have entered the River and drowned , they got his body out yesterday close to where I live .Not sure if he was a local man or from the somewhere else .
I need to collect my repeat prescription today , im going to hang on till the rain slows a little .
I asked my son to clear the Gutters a couple of days ago and he noticed a Roof repair I had done 2 year ago the cement was breaking away , so Im waiting to hear back from the Roofer who gave a Ten Year Guarantee…
@Jazzi
It was hot on Saturday , the Police are still asking for Witnesses , he went in at a local Weir , which looks tame but one slip and they are dragged into the weir and rolled .Its a dangerous River many lives have been lost in it .
Good morning all.
Yep . Todays the day for my knee replacement.
Ain’t it funny, but it don’t hurt today.
I was up early at 0545 for my breakfast, as not allowed to eat for 6 hours before the 12 noon admission. I can drink water up to 2 hours before. I don’t really like to drink water, as fish wee and poo in it.
Yes we also had a load of rain here. It looks like more to come today.
@Emjay I will be thinking of you today. Good luck with the op, and if you can, do keep us updated with your recovery.
My brother phoned me yesterday with the news he is lacking in B12 so will be needing injections. Apparently this could explain why both he and his missus say ‘you are sounding different’, ‘you’re not my husband’. I cried with relief when he told me. His GP had rung and asked ‘have you started the B12 injections yet?’ He and my SiL both went ‘whaaaat?’, as they knew nothing about it! I said how lovely that he has a chance of getting better, after his sepsis scare. We thought it was going to be his downfall.
I’m still waiting to hear from my hospital about a date for minor surgery on my nose. I might keep on at them till they find me a slot! I feel sorry for people having to look at it.
Off to visit Susie J and her hubby this morning. I expect Susie and I will take a wander down to the bench over looking the sea.
What a difference in the weather , more to my liking .
I did a longer walk last evening and i was well pleased how well i got round .
I may go a walk to the Park today , I put on several lbs while i was inactive and id like to lose that cause i always pile it on round my waist line ,and getting my slacks to meet in the middle is almost impossible .
Elasticated waist are so forgiving ,I have several pedal pushers that are so comfortable .
Thinking of Emjay on the operating table , and others on here who are struggling with their health.
Fingers crossed for Jazzi you hear something soon on your op.
