Morning all, another hot sunny day here.
Not doing much, just going out to do our weekly shopping at Aldi and Tesco, then back home for the day.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning all.
I was up early as I wanted to do my chores before it got too hot.
I am just back from doing my daughter’s cat duty’s.
I took Minnie out earlier so that was ok.
I dint think that I am going to do much today, just got to think what to make for lunch.
Nice walk in the forest earlier and just given a few plants a small drink before sitting down for a coffee. I’m going to prepare my shallots for pickling this morning and it’s just something on toast for lunch, so an easy day ahead.
I’ve already taken an un-cooked portion of meat loaf from the freezer so committed to doing a roast today.
Wonder if my neighbours will quieten down today? Yesterday was horrendous. Thumping loud music from around lunchtime to late, so no further sitting in the garden for me. Had to keep windows shut, and door when Holly not out there. Then in the evening I could hear the music coming from her 15yo D’s front bedroom. With her window open it was loud. Then…when Holly and I eventually went to bed, to lie there for hours feeling too warm, there was a dog barking nearby!!
Good morning all ,
Hope everyone is coping in the heat,I stayed hidden behind closed curtains with the fans on yesterday,
the rooms stayed cool .
Im doing the same today , I feel for those that have to work in this heat .Some schools are closing for these 2 days , and Bin men are starting earlier , to avoid the heat .
I remember working in a Large Factory , in the late 60s , Temps were hot then , so when it reached the 90s , the Sprinkler system came on , and we were sent home .
I will pop out today. A quick visit to the library, half hour parking, no charge. To my younger sister for a cuppa and quick chat, then to the nearby Aldi. Need to buy chicken drums (best see if I have rice), for Holly. She is having a bad time with her poo. No idea if it’s because of the heat, but she has been staying indoors safe.
All i’m hearing on the TV, is about the heat wave in England, cancelling Hospital appointments, Schools, Doctors, Planes etc. Has nobody ever heard of Air Conditioning?
Got Doctors appointment at 10am if they haven’t cancelled it.
What a bunch of namby pambys we’ve become because of a few hot days, seems half the country is skiving off! Just like in winter when we have an inch of snow these days we almost close down completely, just goes to prove they don’t make them like they used to…🥸
Good morning all.
I got up early so I could go my chores before it got too hot.
At the moment it is cloudy here.
I have taken Minnie out for a shorter walk. Went and sorted out my daughters cat, and now home with the fan on full revs.
I had a quick chat with my daughter and she said that they had some rain earlier. She is still on or should that be at the IOW?
Obviously not going to do much today.
Morning all, its already quite hot, but nothing like the temperatures they are saying on the BBC.
I’m in terrible pain this morning with my hip, so I won’t be going out anywhere today.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning all.
Phew! That’s all I am going to say about the weather.
I just done a short walk in the shade with Minnie.
Now waiting for the ache in my knee to subside, then going to Sainsbury’s for my weekly shopping.
No toilet from Holly this morning, so I’ve told her she now has to wait till later, unless she uses my tiny garden, but I will have to leave her twice today.
Morning all, just spent several minutes reading and catching up on this thread - haven’t checked in for 3 days, oops!
Thankfully the temperature is much more manageable today in Devon. Yesterday was unbearable, and I was only too aware that at 34deg, it was still several degrees below what some people were having to cope with. Today’s forecast is for a comfortable 25 . Unfortunately, the promised thunderstorm this morning has disappeared from the forecast . I was looking forward to that.
@susiejaeger sorry to hear you’re in pain with your hip again - do hope it improves.
After our lovely weekend at Thorsby Hall we needed to stock up with shopping.
It was lovely & cool in Tesco - the only time I’ve felt comfortable.
I couldn’t stand the heat in the bedrooms last night so put a camp bed up downstairs where it was several degrees cooler. Phew - wish it would cool off. I’m not a sun lover - never was.
