Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning all.
Another fine day here, but you can have too much of a good thing.
So I went to the coffee morning yesterday. There were only 10 people there, but it is new and it would seem that not a lot know about it yet.
I don’t think that I will be seeing anyone today. My daughter has an appointment later in the Marylebone area. So I will not be seeing her.
Not much else I can do, but I expect I will find something.

What always amazes me is that so many young people buy a property, spend a small fortune ripping out the kitchen, bathroom(s), redecorating throughout, all new furniture everywhere, and then sell within 3 or 4 years, to do it all again. When my son sold his last house, 8 years ago, he had only recently finished having the kitchen extended, with a very expensive modern kitchen installed. It was beautiful, the sort of thing you’d see in a glossy home decor magazine, and nothing anyone could possibly object to style-wise. The buyers had it all ripped out within about 6 months. Honestly, I just find that criminal.

Well I’m hoping today I’ll start feeling better - so far so good. I’ve been so exhausted, nauseous, and with legs like jelly for the last 3 days, it’s really getting me down now. I seem to start feeling worse as each day goes on, so we shall see. I haven’t felt like doing anything, not anything at all, just sitting with my laptop or the TV. I spent most of Monday in bed, and still managed to sleep for about 10 hours overnight! So needless to say, I have no plans, though I really wish I could sit and do some sewing - I still have the memory bear to make for my daughter’s neighbour…

Have a good day all.

Morning all.

I wish you well, Bath. Hugs.

We can’t understand my sister doing up her house, when the plan is for her to eventually sell and move into an annexe if her son can find a suitable property. She has had the huge kitchen redone, the downstairs toilet and sink ripped out and replaced. Flooring in hall and kitchen replaced. And it was this son who said the same to me, as he was painting her new living room skirting boards. My sister’s response? ‘I like nice things.’ (She also recently had all new fencing and gates, but as a necessity when quite a few panels fell down in recent storms, leaving her garden exposed.)

Nope. Makes no sense to me, neither.

I might do some shopping today, as I have no bread. I will see.

Morning peeps, not much happening here, just mum visiting for lunch and I’ll have to water the veg again in the garden later on.

Hope everyone is OK and that you have a decent day.

Good afternoon everybody.

I leapt out of bed this morning & started cleaning the house in my nightie.

I am so behind with my preparations for our weekend at Warners - no house cleaning done - no clothes sorted out for taking. At least I know we wont be needing any coats. I have been feeling so wilted with the weather - that’s why nothing has got done. Thank goodness it’s cooler today

Nearly done now - when Tony got up I had him helping. I 've just got the bathroom to scrub out. I can do the packing tonight.

I’ve got a thing about cleaning the house when we go away. It’s nice to come back to then…

We’re off in the morning to out Warner hotel that used to be a stately home. I’m greatly looking forward to it - they have spa/swimming pool/gym and the most beautiful grounds to walk round. Comfortable room & excellent food - plus daytime activities & evening entertainment…

I’m sorry you’re feeling so poorly Sheba. Get well soon. x

Have a good day everyone…

Have a good weekend @Carol ,
@Bathsheba hope you feeling a little better than this morning .

Thanks @Eliza and @carol. I’ve been a lot better today, and had my first proper meal this evening since Sunday! Couldn’t finish it, but it’s a start. At least I haven’t felt nauseous at all today, which is such a relief.

Hope you have a lovely weekend away @carol xx

Good morning all.
Yer another fine day. You can have too much of a good thing. Phew .
My knee was giving me grief this morning. Again only a short walk to the sand pit and back. Saw one of the not so frightened foxes.
I only had my phone with me to take a picture.
Nothing much planed for today. I have to get my meds prescription into the chemist, and this evening going to my daughter’s for dinner.

Morning all, and yet more hot sunshine - never thought I’d be yearning for a cool, showery day!

No agenda today, apart from the usual dog duties for dear old Connie. My daughter’s got one of those gel mats for her, and she lies on that a lot to keep cool, bless her. I really should make a cake to use up some eggs past their BB date, but the thought of having the oven on is putting me off.

Have a great day all.

Morning all.

No plans for me the next few days, just to keep us both cool. I doubt very much I will be able to be in my garden, so we shall see.

Morning all, well the swimming pool is closed today because their thermostat has broken and they can’t regulate the temperature, so no swimming lesson for granddaughter today!

No real plans for today, apart from seeing if I can get on with some sewing. My sewing room gets very warm, though, only one small opening window, so not sure if I’ll get much done there.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

Good morning all

Ive got Fans dotted around ready for the big switch on over the extreme weather conditions .
Hoping they will be enough to keep cool .

Wish i had bought some Bottled water now .
Had a text from my water company , to go easy on the Hose Pipe and to switch running taps off when cleaning teeth .

Ive got 2 dustbins full of rain water I saved for watering ,

last evening i filled a lot of water trays up for the birds , you notice how much has evaporated over the day .,
Ive also set 2 garden Parosoles up , to shei
ld my plants from the heat , and give some shade to the wild life .

Have a wonderful day .

Good morning all
I am a bit later than usual, but it’s no big deal.
Daughter and her lot are already on the IOW. They left home about 5am.
So there is just me and Minnie here.
Yesterday I topped up my car with petrol. Just about 5 gallons. It cost me £42. I don’t think I have ever payed that much for petrol or diesel before.
Obviously not going to do much today, just a couple of small jobs that have to be done.
Weekly washing already in the dryer.
