I had a response for my dermatology referral to say they are reviewing it. If I don’t hear either way by 25th August I can phone the dept. They might see me, or they might revert back to the GP. He can’t do anything about this problem, it needs medical intervention, so I am hoping he wrote as much in his referral.
I’m also not that happy that my hairdresser cannot see me until the 29th July. I shall look more awful by then, lol. But, we are in their mercy.
A late good morning from me. I didn’t get to sleep till 4.00 am so I’ve had a bit of a lie in this morning.
We aren’t doing much till 2.30 when we meet Josh from school. He’s leaving early today as his one2one has an appointment.
Ady & Paula are moving house today - the same village but bigger house & garden.
At least we are helping by caring for Josh while they get on with it. Last time they moved I worked like a trojan helping them clean & wash & iron but now with this trapped nerve I can’t do anything much at all. They don’t expect me to really. They say it’s enough if we take care of Josh.
I had a nice morning at the ‘Carer’s meeting’ yesterday. They were all nice & friendly - only about six people there plus a social worker. The social worker took me under her wing & told me about different groups etc that would help me & she’s investigating any financial claims I may have missed out on. It was worth going & I will be going along to next months meeting too.
Good morning all .
Another grey start , better i think than the soaring temps that are forcast , I don’t do high temps anymore .
Had a video call an hour ago from my son who is traveling to Germany by Car .
He went by Euro Tunnel , into France at 3 am -ish ,now in Belgium he thinks , able to stop for a sleep in a service station .
My Pain in my foot is not so bad,so taking less pain killers .Movement back in my toes , just need my Ankle to work now .My appointment at the Fracture Clinic came through for August 11, to sign me off i guess .
Forgot to say I was asked if I needed a Sick Note . @Emjay sorry you have to wait so long when you are in pain , @Barry glad you got you toothache sorted , @carol pleased you Carers meeting went ok . @Jazzi I could do with a proper hair cut , been doing mine for so llong ,been year since i last went . Thinking of a Perm . @Bathsheba glad you didnt catch the Bug , I remember the emersion heater in our bedroom , what a place to put it .

Morning all, overcast here but warm, and sunshine forecast for later.
Just having a brew before going over to Mum’s to do a bit of gardening for her, she’s 92 now but still loves to potter in the garden, but we try to do most of the heavy jobs such as mowing and weeding. Maybe the afternoon then with the deckchair and a book in the garden shade.
Thanks all for asking, the tooth seems much better today and seems like the antibiotics are doing the job.
Josh decided he wanted to stay the night. He’s still soundly asleep. I’ll be waking him up for his Weetabix soon. After Ady & Paula have taken him off to school I’ll have a good tidy up. It looks like we’ve been hit by a tornado. Autistic children don’t tidy up after themselves!!
This afternoon I’m taking Tony a drive out to a country pub that has a good selection of real ales.
His sister told him about it & he’s been wanting to go for ages.
Good morning all.
Suffer little children, so the saying goes. So what about us old folk?
So, I went to the dentist for my 11.45 appointment. Got seen at 12.30.
Had injection to numb the area, lots of drilling. She put on the temporary cap. Came home and when the numbness went had a sandwich for lunch. As always after a meal,I took out the dentures to rinse them, and the cap came out with them.🫢🦷. ( nerve exposed and don’t like the cold air or water.)
Phoned the dentist again and now got to go again today at 2pm.
Soooo. Went to Dr at 0530 pm, and he gave my knee the injection. Very stiff this morning. It is not as painful as what it was when I walk. But I ain’t walking much more than I need to.
Oh Emjay, not having a good time of it all, are you? Same as me when my dentist kept putting stuff on an exposed tooth. Never lasted more than a few days, if that. Twice, he tried, I think. Hope the injection helps you.
Eliza, hope you begin to feel better soon. Have you been seen at all by the fracture clinic? Or do you think it is for signing off?
Batty, good to hear.
Carol, my niece’s 3yo has definitely been diagnosed with autism, so now she is asking for help in filling in the application for benefit of some kind. Or gathering as much info as possible. But it hasn’t come as too great a shock to us all, because of his behaviour. He still isn’t talking.
Busy day for me. Taking Holly to her groomers for 11, then I will pelt back home, strip the bed for washing the linen, and hoover everywhere. Such a pain trying to do that when she is here.
Morning all, lovely morning, blue sky and fluffy clouds
It’s our day for visiting daughter’s dog, so Mr B will pop up to take her for a walk mid morning, then I’ll go up around 1.00 to feed her - she’s for some time now been having her second meal at that time instead of the evening, to give her insides time to digest it before bedtime, because my daughter was repeatedly being woken up around 3 or 4 in the morning to let her out. But now she’s struggling to control her insides, and even with this change in routine, my daughter invariably comes downstairs to a packet or two on the kitchen floor. Poor old girl, we’re fairly sure that half the time she doesn’t even know it’s happened.
Will cut out all the pieces for the memory bear today. The pattern is awful. I already had a good pattern, but Lou wanted this particular one she’d found on Etsy. For a start, the pattern comes with no seam allowance, so I spent ages accurately adding that to each piece, and there are no instructions, only pictures. There are so many really poor reviews, wish I’d read them first before getting the bl@@@y pattern! Watch this space
To all of you suffering with all sorts of medical issues, sending you virtual hugs and wishes for better days ahead.
Didn’t bother coming home to dash about working indoors. Did some shopping instead, probably using up next week’s budget. Got some petrol, and then a drink and a McFlurry. By the time I arrived back at the parlour Holly was ready, and I could hear her barking. Tut.
Good morning all ,
Just been and filled the water trays up for the birds ,noticed I have some Sweet William seedlings poking through ,must keep up with watering ,lost most of the Cosmos due to circumstances, .
I did some baking yesterday , Boiled fruit cake, not enough sugar in , but with custard on I enjoyed it .
today i have a food delivery , last week my dog food was missing so had to ring up , hope i dont have same palaver today .
Morning everyone, looks like being hot again, it’s pretty steamy already, phew…
Just back from the Tesco shop and having a brew before deciding what not to do next, my agenda is pretty thin today so apart from making lasagne for lunch it’ll more than likely be the deckchair and a book again for an hour or three…
Sorry to hear of your troubles Emjay, they do tend to pile up don’t they…
Good morning all.
Also sunny and already quite warm.
Done my shortened stroll with Minnie to the sand pit and return.
The knee injection that I had Wednesday does seem to be helping a bit.
The second visit to the dentist turned out ok, and she put in a smaller cap, and checked that the denture did not interfere with it.
Jobs for today.
Make a bread. Doing as I write.
Spray weed killer where needed on the paths and other concrete bits.
Fill out form for hospital admission.
Install an extra banisters on stairs, I am going to make one out of rope, already got an idea for this.
Keep well everyone.
Morning all, well we’ve got a beautiful day in store for us here, already warming up considerably.
The usual dog duties today. It’s actually a big day for our daughter’s black lab, though of course she’s blissfully unaware of it - today marks the day she has officially become the longest living dog in our family, ever. Our first dog, Bunty, a Dalmatian, previously held the record of 14 years 8 weeks and 1 day. Connie is now 14 years 8 weeks and 2 days, bless her.
No urgent plans today, just the usual day to day stuff. Have a good day everyone.
This morning Tony & I are joining a social group for people with dementia & their partners. The social worker told me about it when I went to the carer’s meeting on Tuesday. I’m not sure if Tony will enjoy it but I want to give it a try. He’s becoming so isolated. it will be good to meet & talk to other people in the same situation.
After the group I will take him to Wetherspoons for lunch & a walk round the park.
Standing outside my open front door, calling the dog. No answer, so I press the doorbell. Hear distant barking. Uh oh. I’d locked her out the garden! Thought she’d gone upstairs.
@Jazzi ,I bet it was panic station at first , I know that feeling . Once searched all over for my Ellie , found her eventually in the Wardrobe , she has panic attacks at the slightist noise .And hides in a corner shaking most times …
She often refuses to come when called. I have to stand shouting her name over and over, but there have been odd occasions when I couldn’t find her. Sometimes she will be curled up in the bottom section of the wardrobe, that she has staked as her own space. Or, one time I went all over the house and found her lying on the top of the front room sofa! In plain sight, as it were. Another hiding place is under my dining table.
