good afternoon all,
Just back from an Hospital appointment on my Ankle, dont have to go again till another 6 weeks thankfully .
Went to one North of the County found it better than going to the Main Hospital plenty of parking spaces.
Mask wearing is compulsary again in Hospital, after a rise in Covid cases…
Morning all, well I was wrong thinking my knee could be fine today. It’s not - in fact, after a night lying down with my legs straight, I now have difficulty bending that knee, whereas yesterday I couldn’t straighten it
My daughter texted this morning on her way to work, that her daughter said she felt sick this morning. But as she was happy to eat her breakfast, her mum sent her to school. But she was just warning me she may need picking up if she complains of being unwell at school. I said I would pick my daughter up from work to take her to collect her little one, and take them back to theirs, with all the car windows open and wearing a mask. But there’s no way I’d collect her and bring her back here if she’s got the dreaded S&D bug that’s been going round here - I really don’t want it!! So far so good,
I can still drive, thankfully. I know I said I can’t bend that knee, but what I really should have said is that it’s flipping painful to bend it! Once I’ve got in the car, and got in position, it’s fine. I’m sitting in a chair now with that knee bent, but I have to sit down and bend it very slowly and carefully.
When I was young, and heard old people talking about their ‘aches and pains’, I had no clue what it would really be like
Good morning all.
Yes also sunny here at the moment, but lots of clouds building up.
Also had good downpours yesterday evening, so that’s the garden taken care of.
I have a 10 o’clock appointment to see the specialist about my knee again. Defiantly going for the replacement. Can’t stand not being able to walk no more that a couple of hundred yards before the pain and stiffness takes over.
Morning all, sky looks a bit ominous this morning, although the forecast is for ‘sunny intervals and a gentle breeze’
Well my granddaughter managed to struggle through the day at school yesterday, but bless her, she’s really not well, so my daughter has given in and taken a day off work to stay home with her. I would normally have her, but I don’t want the S&D bug. Still, at least that means I won’t have to go and collect her from school this afternoon with my dodgy knee! (I always pick her up on a Friday as a rule). There is a short, but very steep slope leading up to her classroom, and I would really struggle with it today!
So, another day at the sewing machine methinks! Have a good day all.
Today Tony & I are using our bus passes to go to Derby.
We’re meeting up with our granddaughter Kelly who recently lost her mum.
Kelly was from Ady’s relationship with her mum 25 years ago. We (& he) didn’t know she existed until she traced Ady when she was 14 yrs old. It came as a bit of a shock but we try to support her now.
We’ll most likely be in Derby all day. At 5.00pm I’ve got a gardener coming to give me an estimate for cutting my hedge.
Good morning all,
Just filled up the Birds water Bowls now resting with leg up .Hope it rains today , theres some pots that need watering , @Emjay hope your appointment went well yesterday .I get what you saying at not being able to walk far .
Im so grateful at having my mobility all my life , Ive walked Thousands of Miles ,I feel for those that have not .
Have a wonderful day all
Cup of tea in bedroom, sun shining through the window, making it quite hot.
Just had to rescue the dog. Scratching her ear, starting whining, staying in same position. Turned out her claws had got caught in her fur. She is due for her cut next Thursday. Bet she, and I, can’t wait!
Morning all, looks as if we’ve had a fair bit of rain overnight, and it’s still dull and dreary outside
I saw daughter and granddaughter late yesterday afternoon, once it had been established that she didn’t have the dreaded S&D bug. She had perked up considerably, so she will be going to her swimming lesson this morning - I’ll be going up shortly to take them.
We’re then going to have to go to Sainsbury, and possibly elsewhere, to hunt down a blue T-shirt for her sports day on Monday. My daughter only discovered yesterday that she needs it. Apparently everyone has to wear a T-shirt in the designated colour of their team. Seriously? What happened to those coloured team bibs that schools used to use for netball etc? You know, two squares of coloured fabric, one for the front and one for the back, with shoulder straps and ties round the waist. I find it rather annoying that the school just assumes all children will have the required coloured T-shirt in their wardrobe. Er no, they don’t! If I’d known in advance I could have run one up for her, but I don’t have any blue jersey fabric in my stash
Good morning all.
I don’t know what has happened here, but I have now got to log in every morning with user name and password.
The appointment went well with the specialist yesterday. The guy I saw was the head honcho and he does the surgery.
It will be done either at the end of this month or early next month.
Because I am having the dental crown fitted this month it is advisable that there is no blood infection for the knee replacement. ???
I ain’t going to do much today, apart from the laundry, which is already in the dryer and some hanging out.
Weather here is windy, sunny, but cloud building up. Rain?
Sounds feasible, I would think, Emjay. They are just ensuring anything arising from the dental treatment has time to heal before they do theirs. Sounds soon, though. Wow!
Thats quick @Emjay and my Heart Surgeon told me to get my dental treatment done , did he tell you to have Antibiotics with the dentistry ,mine did .I was given them by the Dentist and on for a week .
I’m having a nice quiet day today. Going to the post office with Tony to return some items I ordered from Roman originals. Then we’ll have a walk round the park & nip in Sainsburys for my fresh ginger & a few more items. Ever since I was sick I’ve been making ginger tea. It’s also supposed to be good for the immune system & reducing cholesterol…
Might also nip in Wetherspoons for Tony to have a pint of his favourite Abbots ale.
