Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Oh @Eliza I would love to have seen that! If only your son had got a video of it all :joy:

Yes, I think youā€™ve hit the nail on the head about the girlsā€™ outfits, haha. Donā€™t think thatā€™ll be the end of itā€¦

Good morning all.

Itā€™s granddaughter Taylors birthday today - sheā€™s sweet 17.
Weā€™re going out for a meal tonight to celebrate with her other grandparents & her boyfriend.

Iā€™m just going to potter in the garden all day.

Eliza - take it easy & use your crutches at all times.

Have a good day allā€¦

Morning everyone, just in from the garden having picked more gooseberries and blackcurrants, (although Iā€™m sure the pigeons must be getting more than us), but now I have to top and tail them all before popping them into the freezer. Nothing much planned for later, just see what crops up I guess.

Sorry to hear of the breakage @Eliza , such a bugger getting crocked :face_with_head_bandage: when youā€™re getting on a bit and donā€™t heal so well. As Carol said, just make sure you use the crutches alwaysā€¦

Good morning all .
Day 3 and Ive managed to get into the Bath to have a Shower , Gave it a lot of thought on how to , so I sat on the edge of the Bath swung my legs round and leant against the wall to Shower .
Where theres a will theres a way .

I never realised how much walking back and forth in the house i did .It blooming iratating when you forget something and have to make that journey again , not noticable when both legs walking ok .

Ive put a chair in the Kitchen to kneel on when washing up , sitting at the sink dont work , im to low down , I can prepare and cook sitting down.

Im beginning to wonder on whether its worth getting dressed in a morning , it all takes that bit more effort ,Im not going out anywhere , .
So ive ordered some more PJs and i shall only get dressed to go on trips out .

Hope ive not bored you to much , life of a injured person

Have a wonderful day ā€¦

Morning all.

Not at all, Eliza. We all need to offload, and then give support. I know exactly what it feels like to be incapacitated like that, and what a struggle day to day life can be. With a once broken elbow, and later a broken wrist, simple things like opening cans or jars for instance! I used to put them between my feet to grip. Take it slowly.

PS, my brother and SiL, if not going out, have a shower, change into day PJs, then later in the day into their night PJs for bed. I wish I could find PJs to fit me!

Was awoken not long after 6 by the boys next door, thumping about. Argh!! At least I can have daytime naps.

Not sure of plans today. Could/should do a bit of writing. Or, seeing as I will soon run out of bread, and donā€™t want to do a shop yet, could make some.

A cloudy morning, so at least I can sit comfortably by my bedroom window with my first cuppa.

Morning to all and sundry, some good rain here overnight and the garden seems to have bucked up already. Broken cloud now and looks like being comfortably warm laterā€¦:sunglasses:

Back from our walk early as Oscar didnā€™t seem to want to go, just did what was necessary then dragged us back home, quite odd for himā€¦

I have to pull a cabbage and some carrots from the garden to go with our pie and mash for lunch, but no other plans as yet, all depends on the weather really as Iā€™ve got the side hedge to clip and I really donā€™t want to do it while itā€™s wetā€¦

Have a pleasant day folks and hey, letā€™s be careful out thereā€¦

Good morning all.
I also went out early with Minnie, as it looked like rain was on its way. Not here yet.
Dentist appointment at 11am for the replacement filling. Should not have to pay as it was only done last October, and under a year.
After that I am going to the monthly meet up group. That is if I can find somewhere to park close by, as I will not be able to walk too far before the knee pain starts.
My daughter brought me round a pair of crutches that they had in stock. I canā€™t get on with them at the moment.
Keep well people, and just plod on.

Morning all, weā€™ve had a fair bit of rain over the last 24 hours, so the gardenā€™s happy. Dry at the moment, but showers are forecast throughout the day.

@Eliza I can so relate - Iā€™ve had times when Iā€™ve been on crutches, knee op for one, and you donā€™t half realise how much you normally walk about in the house! It all becomes such a chore, but at least I have Mr B to call on to fetch and carry for me. Doubly difficult if youā€™re on your own. Please do take great care in the shower!!

I really should go to Tesco today, as weā€™re running out of lots of things - and seeing as we donā€™t have to see to the dogs today, itā€™s the perfect opportunity. One of my most hated chores though. Iā€™d much rather stay in and make the knickers Iā€™ve cut out for my granddaughter - she absolutely loves the ones Iā€™ve made her, says theyā€™re the most comfortable undies sheā€™s ever worn. I should make some for myself really.

Hope the dentist appointment goes well @Emjay.

Have a good day all.

Good morning everybody - it was raining here earlier but thank goodness itā€™s stopped now.

I plan a flat walk along Cromford canal with my friend Chris. Only about 2 miles but enough for us as we are lately.
We will both be wearing back supports. Got to keep moving as best we can ā€¦

Eliza I feel for you but you will find in a couple of weeks you will be able to bear a bit of weight.

Have a good day allā€¦

Well I spoke to soon about going shopping. I just went to stand up and found my left knee had locked. Canā€™t straighten it, and oh the pain! Iā€™m now hobbling about, taking the stairs one at a time, holding on tight to the banister rail. No downstairs loo, so itā€™s up and down the stairs, slowly and painfully :persevere:

I hope this doesnā€™t go on too long :crossed_fingers:

Gor blimeyā€¦all you poorlies out there! Get well soon.

Yes he is thanks @Eliza , weā€™ve been out with him again and he was fine. :+1:

Thanks @Eliza. I can just about manage the stairs as long as I donā€™t try to bend that knee. So one tread at a time!

Unfortunately it seems to be worse this afternoon. But itā€™s quite likely to be fine when I get up tomorrow morning, if past experience is anything to go by, so fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

Why is it women have this compulsion to talk or in other words keep bunnying when one is trying to listen to a program. I have noticed also they donā€™t get to the point directly but make every effort to say everything but what they want to say. Often this can go on for half an hour or more.

Morning folks.

Maybe a trip to Tescos this morning. I will be busting my own budget but am out of bread and soon will be out of the Tesco cereal, so needs must. Need to decide if I take the car, or the bus.

Good morning all.
Arrrg! Here we go again. My daughter has just FaceTime me and told me that my grandson has the plague. At the moment she is ok, but I saw him on Monday.
I donā€™t feel any different, but I shall do a test shortly.
Yesterday at the dentist, she recommended that I have a cap on the tooth. She put in a temporary filling, and going again next Wednesday for the next procedure.
I am not going to do much today, but might be going for a cuppa and chat to my friend later this afternoon.

Good morning everybody.

Iā€™m just going to have a quick shower & then off out to meet my friend for lunch.
Tony is coming with me against his wishes but I donā€™t like leaving him aloneā€¦

Have a good day allā€¦
