Morning all, another warm day here, well warm enough for me anyway!
Got a busy-ish day today. Our son and his partner and new baby have gone over to their place in Spain for 10 days, and his boys’ mum is away on business today, back early afternoon tomorrow. So we’re having our 9 year old grandson overnight, and then I’ll take him to school in the morning. His brother is 16, so will stay at home with their dog - he’s a very sensible lad, so no worries about loads of mates coming round and trashing the house. I said I’d cook a meal for them and take it round after school (the 16 year old will collect the 9 year old from school), and then bring the little one back here after they’ve both eaten.
In the meantime, I need to get out and buy birthday cards, birthday cake and a banner for our granddaughter, who’s 7 tomorrow. Oh and wrapping paper to wrap her presents! That will leave Mr B doing all the dog looking after - going up to daughter’s house to take both dogs out (she’s looking after her brother’s dog while they’re away), then back up again later to feed the elderly one, and walk them again. And he’ll have to go and pick up our daughter from school, to take her to her daughter’s school to pick her up! (usually my job…)
Not sure of plans just yet. My battery jet wash arrived yesterday and I might see if I can get it connected to the outside tap. My usual hose won’t, before undoing itself, sending water everywhere.
Good morning all.
I feel tired just reading that lot. Busy busy lady Bathsheba.
Me, I ain’t doing nothing.
Well I do have to go to the clinic this afternoon for the yearly eye diabetes scan.
My daughter is going to take me as what with the gammy knee, it will be painful just getting to the bus stop.
Weather. Blue sky and hot.
Good morning all ,
I think Summer as truely arrived the Temps are continuing the right way.
I need to dead head my Sweetpeas ,and i might go down to the Market shop to see if they have Gorillia Glue ,I broke a piece of Bedroom furniture when I was dragging it to a different place .
Not a good move I should have waited and asked for help , but as ever I dont ask for help unless its really necessary.
Have a wonderful day
A very Good morning , Ive sat outside to have my Toast and Coffee this morning ,its so pleasant .
Im debating whether to go to the Market at the next Town , and go on the Villager bus , which would be a senic route which would take me through 4 villagers and twice over the River Trent.
Ive not done that Bus journey before , and is an hourly service so if I miss it , well …
Morning everyone, gosh isn’t this weather just lovely? It was so hot yesterday - my granddaughter had said she hoped it would be sunny on her birthday. Well she got the sun in spades!!
We went round to see her after school yesterday, and took her presents with us. We’d bought lots of little bits and pieces that we knew she wanted and left the big present till last, out in the car. She was so excited to see such a big box! Inside was an Xbox, which she had no idea she was getting. This was a one-off for us, we don’t normally spend that much on the grandkids, but our daughter’s a single mum, on a low income, so it’s nice to step in with the special things sometimes. We won’t always be here to do it…
Today I just have to hem the leggings for granddaughter’s BFF, now that I have her inside leg measurement. Apart from that, no real plans.
Good morning all.
Raining at the moment. It is true what they say about the weather and arthritis.
My knee is so painful this morning, I could not do the complete circuit of the field. It was enough for Minnie as she was galloping around as usual.
There was a small shower of rain first thing and when I got back from the shortened walk, it really came down.
Got a bread being made in the machine, and not much else I can do, or don’t want to do.
Oh Emjay, your knee pain sounds so miserable. I’m sure you’ve tried lots of things, but one gel I’ve found helpful is Polar Frost. It’s available on Amazon for £7.95, might be worth a try. Another one that I bought on the recommendation of several people, was Rhus Tox & Ruta, a Homeopathic cream by Helios. But to be honest, I didn’t find this as good as the Polar Frost, but I know many people rave about it. Seems Amazon no longer list this, but I expect you could find it elsewhere.
Good morning all,
I went a walk last evening ,Through some fields and wood that led me to the River .
My dog loved it ,walking along in the River cooled her off , I half wanted to paddle with her but resisted.
I have no plans for today,I may go a walk to the Park and see what flowers they have planted out .
Hope every one is Pain and worry free this morning .
Morning all.
Not going out anywhere today, i’m in a lot of pain with my Hip, so just resting.
Emjay, hope your knees feel a bit better this morning.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning all.
Well the weather is good here at the moment, and that seems to be the only good thing.
Big dramas. My SIL parents live in the same road as me. She had a fall last Saturday evening. No real damage done so it was thought. Yesterday she was not well, so it was up to my daughter to take control. She was taken to hospital and it was found that she had a broken cheek bone, and an urine infection. They kept her in overnight and was sent home at 4am.
She now is on her way to the Royal London hospital taken by my grandson.
(They had to borrow the wheelchair that I kept and has been useful for a few times.)
Me? Well knee still giving me grief. I rest it for a while what I am doing now, and it will become operational again shortly.
Have a good day all.
I’ve got a doctors appointment this morning for a routine check on my PMR.
I had blood tests a few weeks ago. I expect the doctor will tell me off for not taking the statins she gave me but I don’t need any more tablets!!
I’m staying in most of the afternoon waiting for delivery of my new tumble dryer. May go shopping with Tony afterwards if they don’t come too late.
Ive just taken out the oven 2 Chicken Pies and an Apple Pie , made them yesterday and kept them in the fridge for cooking this morning on cheap rate .
I ate the Marmalade Tart for Brekkie now to wash it down with a Cuppa T.
Ive no plans today other potter around the garden dead heading Sweetpeas ,
I sowed Sweet williams yesterday and Aquiliga, and a few Pansies that i found gone to seed .
Good morning all.
It is not so warm here this morning. Just back from a painful hobble with Minnie around half of the field.
I am resting the leg at the moment, and when the aches subsides, I will carry on with my chores.
My daughter is away this weekend, so I doubt that I shall see anyone. Not really bothered.
Morning everyone. Well my BBC weather app tells me that there’s an 85% chance of rain right now. In reality, it’s bright and sunny at the moment, though of course it won’t last - I can see ominous clouds over towards the north west.
I don’t really have any plans today, but I’m thinking of making one of those remote control caddies - you know, the sort that goes over the arm of the sofa. Not for me, but for my daughter. She is one of life’s tidy-uppers, and always puts the remotes away in the cupboard - she wouldn’t dream of just leaving them on the arm of the sofa (like we do ). So I thought a caddy might be helpful - it will keep them handy for her while also satisfying her urge for tidiness and order!
@Emjay and @susiejaeger sorry to hear you’re both suffering with your joints today.
I might carry on using my jet washer. See if I can finish off the fence, where accessible. Going to be a devil when I want to paint it. Two sides are hidden by the shrubs, honeysuckle and mini greenhouse (and compost bin). Also would like to do the shed, which has the honeysuckle branches/roots by it.
I have just finished a leisurely breakfast in bed brought to me by Tony. (coffee & toast)
He knew I’d taken some knockout painkillers for my back last night & let me lie in.
It will take me the rest of the morning to waken up but this afternoon I have plans to go in the garden.
Tony will mow the lawn while I do the edging. Also got some petunia’s to pot up that I got at Asda yesterday.
