Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning everybody.

There’s a fete up at our village hall with stalls, raffles, games etc. Tony & I will have a stroll up there for an hour or so but then there’s plenty to be doing at home.

I just remembered to put my lightweight dressing gown in the washer. I shall need something to wear going to & from the shower block at our caravan site starting Monday for five days…

Have a good day all…

Good morning all.
Just back from my duty of feeding my daughter’s cat. Only took 30 minutes there and back as the roads were clear. I saw a few drops of moisture on my windscreen on the way back.
Apart from the usual Saturday laundry to do, nothing else planed yet. So will just let it happen.

Afternoon all. Well we had an absolute downpour here this morning, just when my daughter was taking granddaughter to her swimming lesson. I didn’t take her this time, because I had a bit of an iffy tummy, so Mr B took them.

We went out for a drive yesterday afternoon, into Cornwall. Mr B wanted to find a gravestone in a church in St Endellion, near Port Isaac. Apparently Dr Miles Marley, a medical practitioner, met Charles Dickens in London before moving to Cornwall, and it is believed that Dickens based Jacob Marley, in A Christmas Carol, on him. It’s a lovely old church and graveyard, nearly all very old gravestones, 19th and early 20th century. Probably some from 17th century as well, but stones as old as that are sadly so very weathered that the inscriptions are difficult to read. We sat on a grassy area by the church car park with our coffee and read for a while, so peaceful and pleasant.

I’ve done nothing much today so far, and intend to do more of that this afternoon

Morning all, tipping down with rain and a cold wind here this morning, certainly doesn’t feel like June!

Good luck to all that have events planned, I do hope conditions improve for you. Nothing planned here so I make have a cookathon in the kitchen to stay warm, :man_cook: always a pleasant way to spend a cold day…

Enjoy your day folks

Good morning all, I enjoyed The platinum Concert , and the Queen having Tea with Paddington gave me a Chuckle all night .I thought the Light show was brilliant not seen anything like that before .

Im glad I went a walk yesterday , today its pouring with rain and set to stay for the day ,
On my walk yesterday I took a picture of the field i was was walking round, the border was edged with Phacelia and it stood out well , the middle of the field was a mix of wild seeds of differing use for the Insect life .

My own garden is buzzing with Bees on the Ceanothus

Have a wonderful day everyone

Good morning everybody.

Lovely pictures Eliza.

It’s raining heavily here. Such a shame for the jubilee celebrations in our local park.

I’m all set for my caravan break at Weymouth starting tomorrow but I’ve somehow got to try & compress my packing a bit. So far I’ve got a med case, a small case, 2 overnight bags, a shopping bag & 2 backpacks. It doesn’t help having to take household goods & towels etc…

It must be about 40 years since I’ve holidayed in a caravan - it was Ady & Paula’s idea. They booked us one next door to each other. Should be fun so long as they don’t expect us to keep up their pace.

I am really looking forward to the break…

Have a good day all…

Morning all, its pouring of rain here and here for the day.
Hope you have a nice break Carol and that the weather brightens up for you.
Not going out in this.
Have a good day all.

Have a lovely Holiday Carol…
Weather dont look to good but im sure there will be a Theatre and other indoor things to see and do .
Enjoy …

Morning all.

Carol, have a wonderful time, but don’t worry about what you will be taking. I often load up the car. And I also take my own bed linen, because of Holly being on the bed with me. My own food, tea, coffee etc., towels/tea towels, toilet and kitchen rolls. iPad and charger, a book or two. And that is before I put in Holly’s bits!

Been raining here since middle of t’night, and expect it’ll go on all day. Goodness knows if there will be a break for getting the dog out. Now is looking good, but I am nowhere near ready. Just done a marathon session of washing up from yesterday, and am now back upstairs by the window with a cuppa and first tablets. The dog is happily dozing on the bed.

Main meal just needs to go in the oven (another meat pie), and boil some veg. Yesterday, when making the two tiny pies (I made the meat eke out), there was pastry left over, so I did 7 jam tarts. Oh my gosh, don’t think I will get shop ones ever again. They were gorgeous. I ate 3 one after the other, fresh from the oven, still hot. Ouch ouch!

If this weather is set to last all day, today would be good for being on the computer, writing. Our meet is on Tuesday, so I need to have some work ready to email across.

Morning all, it’s a bit dull here but no rain yet - it is forecast though so we’re not going to get away with it.

Wasn’t the concert wonderful last night? We really enjoyed it. Was disappointed with Rod Stewart and Diana Ross. Her performance really wasn’t worthy of ‘grand finale’ status, and was almost certainly only billed as such because the RF all loved her. And why did so many of them get to sing 2 or 3 songs while Andrea Bocelli (who IMO should have been the grand finale act!) got to sing only 1?

I do hope the pageant parade will not be ruined by rain this afternoon.

Off to a barbecue party this afternoon for my grandson who’s 9 tomorrow. Though I strongly suspect it’ll end up being an indoor party :cloud_with_rain: :umbrella:

@carol I hope you have a lovely caravan break - I bet it’ll be lots of fun!

Good morning all.
What am I missing? It is not raining here.
But very overcast so I expect it could be on its way.
It did rain in the night a bit,
Right. Done my Minnie and I our walk around the field. Left knee is still tender but not as difficult to walk as it has been.
Went and fed and watered my daughters cat. Coming back it would seem that the L drivers and their brothers and sisters are all out. Sorry I ain’t got the patience anymore. What ever way I came back there they were. It would seen that they were the only vehicles out.
Lamb shank and lots of veg for my lunch/ dinner today.

Aw yes- it would be ok if we were driving ourselves but we’re going in Ady’s car.

Once their stuff & Josh’s is in I don’t know how much room will be left for ours…

Fingers crossed.

@carol, ah, using only one car does restrict you. My sis is driving from Lowie to Braintree today, with her grand-daughter, who is staying while her mum is away to Rhodes. GD didn’t want to go. This means, that because sis’s other daughter is taking her bf and 3 yo, with all that entails, they will be driving to Camber Sands in Kent tomorrow in both cars. So double the petrol costs, and the Dartford Crossing. But sis reckons she will be happier, as she will have her own car if she wants to go off for the day somewhere without having everyone else in tow. They are doing the cheap Mon-Fri Sun caravan break.

They didn’t want to be squashed up in one car. Hope everything goes ok for all of you, and have a safe journey.

Morning all, pouring of rain here.
Not goi g out today.
Carol have a nice time, hope the weather is better for you.

Morning all.

I hope to dash out in between rain drops, as I have things to get, depending on if ready. My repeat meds (but not on the way to other places, the opposite in fact), I need milk. Waiting for an email from Holland & Barrett, that the stuff I have ordered is in. And as we are using a new venue from tomorrow for the writing group, I would like to get the couple a ‘New Home’ card. So I suppose any or either could be done today or tomorrow. I have already sent over my submission for the meeting, so that is one less to worry about.

We still have rain in the air. It was like this last night on the dog walk. Mizzly. At least it kept my neighbours indoors most of the weekend. Apart from the forever opening of the front door (though it hasn’t been so bad), there hasn’t been much of a peep from them.

Later today, when downstairs and I have access to my passwords, I will log onto to my GP website and ask for an appt. I have a persisting skin problem. Not urgent, but something I would like them to look at seeing as it is on the outside of one nostril. I have a feeling it is a cutaneous horn. I had one before on my face and it was excised. This one is tiny, but unsightly on close up. I have decided it is time to get it seen to.

Mizzle here too Jan, bloody miserable again in fact! Never mind it can only improve… can’t it…

Just back from Tesco and grabbing a brew before deciding on anything else, I’m going to cook a roast for lunch but no plans other than that.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning all.
It is not raining here at the present time but had loads in the night.
Just back from the painful walk around the field. So the injections on the left knee is not working. Neither is the cold or hot pads.
Is it time for the knee replacement? Decisions. There is a 20% that it will not work from what I have been told.
So nothing else planed yet for today. Just sit here and do my daily puzzles and jigsaws on this iPad.

Sorry to hear that, Emjay. :slightly_frowning_face:

Think I will amend mizzly to rain. Hmmmph! So we are likely to get wet on our walk. I am only just having breakfast so won’t be for awhile yet. Had a lie in after my earlier cuppa.

Good morning , a bit chilly out but tomorrow we are going to be hit with 20c,I wish it will stay and not keeping changing .
I have some clothes to return to the shops , rather than post them back .Theres been a delay in the post with the Jubalee .
Have a wonderful day .

Good morning all , The sun is alredy shining down,
My trip to town went well ,Monday is a quite day in town not a lot of people about , I noticed another shop had closed that I use to like Thats two Shoe shops gone now ,

I went to John Lewis and bought a lovely Powder Blue Jumper ,I also got 2 Blouses from M@S ,I’ve noticed before the mirrows in M@S changing rooms make me look a lot larger than I am , A bit like those Fairground Mirrows that distort you .

Well I must get the Bin out before they turn up .

Have a wonderful day .
