Morning all, the sun did come out this morning but its gone again (or was I just dreaming).
Not going out today, got things to do, cooking, form filling, nail painting etc.
Our cat has an accident last night, she has Arthritis in her back leg, but last night she decided to run up the stairs to bed and she slipped on the stairs and twisted her bad leg, now she is limping around the house.
Good morning all.
Weather here is not too bad at the moment, but clouds already building.
Just back from my daughters to sort out her cat. She is away again at .the IOW. Back tomorrow so I still have to do the cat in the morning.
My leg felt so much better until I went and took Minnie out. More rest is needed.
Morning Afternoon everyone. Wow, the day is running away with me today! Not that I’ve really done much, apart from finish off the tiny dress for my 7 week old granddaughter. Now I’ve just got to make the knickers (nappy cover) to match.
We went out yesterday evening for a drive over to Wembury beach and walked along the cliff path for a while, then sat and enjoyed the view. It was such a lovely warm evening, and the beach was still pretty busy with families enjoying the sun. Only thing to spoil it was the smell of all the flipping barbecues. When I visit a beach I want to smell the sea, the seaweed, the fresh air, not barbecued sausages and burgers . I honestly think barbecues on beaches should be banned. Yeah, I know, I’m a killjoy. But I do really hate the things.
Morning all, overcast and cool here with chance of showers later they say…
After a busy day with family here yesterday I am planning on doing very little, apart from putting away all the spare furniture that we keep for these occasions oh, and I’ve got a leaking tap to fix but nothing else as yet.
Seems your day went well yesterday Barry, with all your guests.
I did shopping yesterday morning, instead of trying to see the Red Arrows flying back to Scampton, so will stay home today, and might try to do some writing. We will be asked for our update tomorrow so I should do some.
Might have a chance to see some of the fly past on the 2nd June, if they are over our part of the coast on the grouping/hold. I will certainly take a walk to our best advantage point, and wait, hoping…
Good morning all.
Been and done my daughters cat. But she just FaceTime me to go pick up some forms from the Dr for her, which I shall do later.
They will be home later this afternoon.
Nothing else planed for today yet, so will just let it happen.
Weather here is dull and overcast. Rain later? Maybe.
There was lots of vistors to the area we went to and was very lucky to get a parking place.
It was the first time E travelled so far without being sick , 11years of her travel sickness really limited our Journey time in the past , One of the reasons I went away on holidays by myself, while hubby stayed at home to look after E .
Today I have put some big Garden planters in my front Garden , thankfully I have a Sack barrow to move heavy stuff , So Im hoping this will stop a Workman who is using my Driveway and front garden to turn around in .
This guy cannot do a 3 point turn in the road , he bumps up the pavement then up to my house before pulling off .
Well Im going to have a relaxing day now , and will look at what to book for the short Queens holiday,
Ive been given the task of organising a day out … Im thinking Belvoir Castle …
Morning everyone, slightly overcast, but blue sky breaking through - think it’ll brighten up this afternoon.
@Eliza glad your trip out went well - such a beautiful area, as your lovely photos show
Nothing much planned today, but I’m half thinking of taking a trip to Torbay to have a look in the out of town M&S for a jacket. Might suggest to Mr B - he’s always up for a ride out, lol!
Good morning all.
Bright out at the moment but it looks like an ugly sky. Well that’s what I call it.
I am determined to get out to go do my weekly shop, but will be going with my daughter.
Already been out with Minnie, and was a short walk for me.
I have decided that the pain is not the knee itself but the tendons at the back I’d the knee. I have bee putting a frozen pack (Brussel sprouts) on it, and seems to help. Got to find somewhere I can get the proper things. Amazon does them but I want it now.
Oh Emjay, what would be the treatment for the knee? Apart from ice packs? Yes, it’s no good keep getting the sprouts out (though in my case that’s all I’d use them for.). Hope it settles down soon.
Rained a short while ago, which wasn’t on the forecast. I checked. Hoping it will stay nice for the day.
Cafe meet this morning. No idea if I will be the only one sitting there. I can buy my TV guide before I go in and sit and read it, with a smaller pot of tea, if so. Usually the other London lady and I share a big one, taking turns to pay. We can get three cups each from it. So far I have only had two replies to my messages, saying they can’t make this week.
Yesterday I switched big pc on, so I could carry on with the writing. Had a Line of Duty dvd in the drive, and shrank the two windows, while watching. Then I put in The Detectives, with Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell, and at times was creased up with laughter! Such fun.
Finished reading the Richard Osman paperback from the library and will take it back, maybe tomorrow. Last seen there were 13 reserves on it. I then found his follow up on the library lending app and am now into that. They are surprisingly entertaining.
Morning everyone, it’s looking to be a lovely day today, so the bedding’s in the wash.
@Emjay sorry to hear your knee is still so painful, hope those tendons heal soon.
Hairdressers today. I was lucky to get an appointment - the salon I go to has closed down, and the girl who does my hair is now doing mobile hairdressing, with one day a week - Tuesday - at another salon. So I’d booked ahead when I last saw her, and have an appointment on 21st June, but now I’ll be going next week to Essex for my sister’s funeral, and my hair really needs a cut, so I texted her in desperation and thankfully she was able to fit me in today!
And I absolutely must remember to pick up my prescription from the surgery today, as I’ve completely run out of one of my meds!
Morning everyone, just back from the forest, where the Forestry Commission have been resurfacing some of the tracks and the place is barely recognisable in places! Since encouraging cyclists and off road cyclists to the forest everything seems to have been geared towards them rather than us with many tracks being widened and stoned over, plus some of the smaller, more interesting tracks are being completely destroyed by the machinery unnecessarily. It seems that we walkers are just unwanted there now, such a shame after 30 years or so, but I guess we are just yesterday’s people now and really of little consequence compared to the high spending lycra clad cyclists of today…
OK rant over, good morning all, overcast with showers forecast for here today, so I’ll spend some time in the kitchen making vegetable curry for the freezer, no other plans though yet.
Morning all, we had a lot of heavy rain yesterday which did the garden and my water butts good.
This year seems to be galloping by tomorrow sees 1st June we will be half way through .
I ordered some more Jumpers yesterday which were half price , then saw one was size 26 Im sure that i didnt order that size , it will drown me …
nothing planned for today other than hoover through,
Have a wonderful day .
Today we’re meeting Tony’s sister for a walk in the park. Maybe go somewhere for lunch afterwards.
She will have her baby granddaughter with her so we’re looking forward to seeing baby Belle.
Hope to do some ironing when I get back.
Emjay, this is the ice pack I use. If you order it now you will receive it tomorrow.
I’ve had the most terrible night’s sleep. Woke up at 4.30 and couldn’t nod off again so decided to get up.
My how time flies when you’re enjoying yourself - I’ve been checking bank statements & other exciting stuff like that! lol
Later this morning I’m going a walk through some local woods with my friend Chris, followed by lunch in town.
I hope to be back before 2.00pm because Tony will be on his own. All the kids are away on their various holidays so nobody to keep him company. He expects me to go a walk with him when I get back. Not that I mind - he can’t walk far…
I hate having bad nights. Hope you feel ok for the day.
Will most likely catch bus into town, get some bread (M&S), and go into the library. I also fancy a couple of the bakery soft rolls, and also into Wilko.
Later, will roll up the two rugs currently in the lounge, that shed threads and are a nuisance, store away upstairs for now, and put down the new ones.
