No I don’t think they do…I think they are minor transgressions sensationalised by the press and media out of all proportion.

Great to have you back by the way

Maybe folks who don’t dictate to others are allowed minor transgressions, likewise, maybe folks who are standard setters aren’t.

Summer you’re a breath of fresh air for standing up to the pack mentality and find it disgraceful the way people are using emotional blackmail to score party political points, led by the leader of the opposition who is far from an angel. I was pleased to hear on the radio this morning somebody who is normally a Labour voter being absolutely disgusted with Keir Starmer.

If when Boris was in hospital he had relatives/friends come to visit him, I might think they had a point.

If when he got married or lost his mother he broke the rules, I might think they had a point.

I listen to his sister Rachel Johnson on LBC and can assure you she’s not shy to criticise any policies she disagrees with. But she’s stated that on a personal basis he’s always stuck to the Covid rules. What he’s been criticised for is what’s happened in the work place with people he’s been in close contact with like many others up and down the country.

I honestly can’t see any difference with what Boris has done as being any different to what Kier Starmer did when he was photographed having a beer and pizza.

In the HoC Labour were all wearing their masks, at the party conference they weren’t, when Kier Starmer went to meetings after being in the HoC they took their masks off.

GB News showed Robert Peston sat at a press conference without his mask on and then as soon as the cameras came to him as it was his turn to ask a question he put his mask on.

Nicola Sturgeon has just been caught for not wearing a mask.

Do any of these incidences bother me, no they don’t, in fact I find them comical. What I can’t stand is the hypocrisy of it all and using the deaths of people to score political points and playing on people’s emotions. It really is showing the worst side of human nature which I want no part of.

People can have as much hypocrisy as they want, it becomes irksome when other folks have to pay for their privilege, that is an opinion not driven by any political angle.

Got no idea what you mean by this.

It’s not Partygate per se, it’s the succession of lies from him and the utterly corrupt government along with the betrayal of BREXIT. Just about ANY alternative government would be an improvement on this one. Maybe we NEED a period of Labour in office to help repair some of the dreadful damage that the period of Conservative government has created.

Boris Johnson is facing calls to resign after he admitted attending a lockdown party in Downing Street during the pandemic.

But it is far from the first time the prime minister has been caught seemingly breaking the rules with impunity.

Johnson claims the “bring your own booze” event held at Number 10 on 20 May 2020 did not “technically” break the strict rules in place at the time. Lawyers, fact-checkers and even some of his own MPs disagree.

The prime minister told Parliament yesterday: “I must take responsibility.” But his record suggests he rarely, if ever, does so.

Those are, of course, just some examples … :bookmark_tabs:

Are bets being taken on the outcome?

Time for an amnesty on Piffle, and concentrate on Matters of International Importance.

No. What is at issue is not Partygate - it’s the succession of barefaced lies culminating in lying/misleading The House. He MUST be brought to book and kicked out. Literally ANYONE and ANY party would be better than what we now have.

Starmer? Corbyn? BLiar?

Actually, it is perfectly normal for all PMs, having served in the office for one or more terms, to lose their position.
Either the party is out and replaced by another, or the members of the sitting party get fed up with their leader for one reason or another and replace him/her themselves, presumably for the good of the party (though not always - eg, Maggie).

After all is said and done, if it weren’t for Boris, we would not be washing our hands to two verses of Happy Birthday

I find it amusing that Boris feels safe enough to walk around Kiev in a shirt, tie and jacket, but his walk around London requires stab vest, police officers flanking him, and a mask on his face…
:joy:

Respect where respect is due, to walk around Kiev at the moment, one would not be a Chicken!

He should go back there again to offer more support.
Perhaps someone would do us a favour and top him!
