We had quite a significant snowfall this last winter if you would class 50 to 60 cms as significant Besoeker.

the Victory she’ll always be HMS a ship of the line part of the Royal Naval fleet.
HMS Victory was launched in 1765 , not much of the original ship remains, as I understand several of the ceiling beams on one of the decks remain .
I visited the dockyard and Victory last Sunday. Well impressive .

I’m not a climate change denier, quite the contrary. The climate has been changing ever since there was a climate. It goes from hot to cold every few thousand years. Apparently we are just coming out of a cold spell regardless of how much people think that we have anything to do with it.
The media aided by some scientists (if they want to keep their funding) throw statistics and historical events at us that they know we can’t prove or substantiate like ozone layers and melting polar ice.
It was just the Morecombe and Wise version of Singing in the Rain, which always makes me laugh.

A replica shocked 
Iast re-Ferb way back In Victorian times .
That’s over a 100yrs ago.
All Nelson’s original artefacts are on board or in the docky museums ,cabin furnishings, the bed he slept in . Indeed all the fixtures fittings guns ,cannons everything even the pots and pans all original .
It’s fantastic the dockyard well worth a visit if you’re down south.
Also there’s the Warrior ,Mary Rose ,ww2 craft ,
and these 2 blooming things .

Yes terrific pictures indeed! You can also go on a boat trip around the harbour and see whatever warships are at anchor. Not to mention a trip over The Solent if time isn’t an issue. Portsmouth really has plenty to offer!
So there we were, Mrs Fox and me with a trolley full of shopping and unable to get into my car. I think the battery had expired in the keyfob and although the concealed key opened the drivers door, the alarm went off as soon as I opened it…
A call to friendly neighbour came to the rescue and drove us home with the shopping and I went back with the spare key.
What a palava!
I’m going to delve into the electrics and see if I can’t modify the system and make it more basic.
I have a spare battery in the car but my car is old fashioned enough to have a key lock in the door.
BTW the battery in the key is 11 years old??

I think you will find that was some time in the 1920s because the ship had deteriorated so much (I vaguely remember that little tidbit for some reason).
Let’s face it the ship was originally built in the 18th Century so it is not surprising that most of the wood has been replaced. Nothing wrong with that.
BTW my school, though founded in the 17th century, celebrated the Temeraire which was featured in Turner’s painting (which I took a last look at in the National Gallery recently). It was of a similar vintage.

Victory last Sunday .
Her last total structural rebuild was the “Great Repair” from 1800 to 1803. Indeed since 1765 there have been 5 major refurbishment.
This is interesting…
Since 1765 the ship has gone through five major repairs; she had been almost completely rebuilt by the time of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Victory cost £63,000 to build, which is the equivalent of about £740 million today and was placed into dry dock in 1922.
Today’s rebuild will continue till 2033 .
Fighting Temeraire Turners masterpiece so fabulous yet so sad .
