Betting Odds On The Next Tory Leader

Ahhh the WEF, yes I’ve heard of that…

I’m a paid up member of the Conservative party and will have a vote, so I’m hoping Liz Truss will be among the last two. Reasons: she is a brexiteer, she is tough and well experienced in government, she was also loyal to the last PM and loyalty is a short commodity in politics…

Well at least we’ll end up with a well educated PM, if nothing else.

Well educated is a must, but what is needed more is a decent HONEST PM who has some good common sense…Anyone come to mind?

Blimey you expect a lot, I suspect a lot of the appeal now is who appeals to the social media savvy, faceache and the like .

Academic qualifications are on record, and can be checked, but decency and honesty are harder to verify, so I don’t have anyone in mind.

If I were a Tory then I’d go for Penny Mordaunt. She’s very clear and positive on Brexit and not to embroiled with Johnson. She presents herself well and wouldn’t be the embarrassment Johnson was

Of course, she lied about Brexit during the leave campaign, but that’s par for the course with Brexiters and she’s lying now telling her supporters Brexit can be a success

And she drives me nuts the way she keeps her head lowered, eyes down reading her notes when she speaks in Parliament. For gawd sake look ‘em in the eye, woman :eyes:

Whether it be the EU or anyone else we hope to trade with, we have to enter into negotiations in a spirit of good will and cooperation. So picking a leader who supported Brexit is all vey well, but perhaps one whose attitude towards the EU isn’t too hostile.

I’ll be honest (and decent :slightly_smiling_face:), May, I’m not really familiar with any of them.

Yup she’ll be good at PMQ’s:

Sunak should be disqualified from the contest because he was one of the first top ministers to resign, and no doubt intimidated the rest of the lowlings to follow suit or else…
Now everytime a prime minister makes an unsavoury decision, he risks mutiny by a minister who is not only unfit for the job, but ashamedly unscrupulous and deceitful.
