Aren't you glad now that we left the EU?

It’s been nothing but problems, with absolutely no benefits. What’s to be glad about?

Why would I want to do that?

I’m scarily patriotic and love my country and all the dumb people living here💖

That’s why I get so angry at people like Johnson and the Brexit voters letting our country down

Maybe all political leaders are a bit self-serving but Johnson has got to be the worst ever

He exploits every situation to his own advantage and doesn’t care about the harm he’s doing to us

Well said, Maree. :+1:

I’m more angry about those that voted Remain and wouldn’t/won’t accept the result of the Referendum. Perhaps if they hadn’t fought tooth and nail to get the result overturned, we’d be much further on in our road to recovery - seven years in, instead of two. Do you think the Tories got an eighty seat majority at the last GE because they like Boris Johnson? No. The election was seen as a way to get the result of the Referendum the majority voted for, dumb (the usual patronising, we know better than you insult by the Remain camp) or not.

No, I think it was because they liked the alternative a lot less.

I dont think for one minute people voted for Johnson because they wanted Brexit done .
It was because Jeremy Corbyn was leader of the Labour Party .
Effectively there was no one else to vote for .
Having said that I have never voted Tory in my life and don’t vote Labour either
Johnston is an utter disgrace , he campaigned for Brexit to get shut of May and become PM ,he knew as anyone with any sense knew that it was a disastrous decision . The fact is Cameron thought it was a done deal he could not imagine the British public would vote to leave .
People voted for Brexit primarily for what they saw as inability to control our own borders and unlimited immigration. - didn’t work out too well .
In fact there are no advantages as far as I can see.

Maybe not yet, give it time.

Ain’t that the truth

What makes me angry is the remainers who are willing for it to fail so they can say told you so, instead of getting behind it and wishing the country well.

I only hope that you are right Judd.

He is.

It’s a process, not something that would happen overnight. Come back in ten years time from the date we left although the pandemic has held things back.

The only way I see that happening is if the EU softens it’s atitude to the U.K. and with Macron in charge I can’t see that happening any time soon .

Muddy there’s a whole world out there not just the EU, that’s why we left it.

But what happens when people get fed up with being part of the world? Do we vote to leave?

The whole world out there is a long was away , the EU is our biggest trading partner .
We now have inflation and the economy is floundering .
Of course we had covid and a war doesn’t help but the main cause is Brexit .
