This used to be my exercise…
Now I do very little.
Gorgeous!
Unfortunately, some are what they eat…I remember that program well.
You are what you eat ,it was called…who introduced it, she was on celebrity get me out of here…was it Julia Mckeeth?..she helped a lot of people overcome their food addiction, if I remember rightly.
The program has just started up again pauline but seems to be dealing with the usual fatties eating nothing but Macdonalds and KFC. It used to be very educational when Jillian McKeith ran the show.
Rox, who are those two on the Clydesdale?..fantastic pictures,
Lovely pic,Tiff,…powerful creatures are horses,
Last horse I rode & no contact with horses now.
Seymore
Not sure, I see a lot of people with Clydesdales here, especially on the beach.
I bought a new cross trainer a few days ago,( second hand) …my word it’s been putting me through my paces, I could last at least half an hour on the one in the gym, this one I only lasted 10 mins, will gradually increase, …happy exercising to all those fitness bunnies,
After 59 years I’m not going to start now and ruin my streak
…well done, …
Hi
Not unless there is someone present, I keep falling.
This is an excellent machine for keeping the waist trim ,plus it keeps your top half free from the dreaded rolls of fat.
It’s called a 5 min pro shaper ,it’s served me well.
As Gough Whitlam once said, “I get more than enough exercise attending the funerals of friends who did exercise.”
Do your exercise machines have a heart rate monitor? As you exercise alone, I do think a HR monitor would be a good idea so you would know if something is going wrong before keeling over. The one Mrs LD has for home muscle toning has one and I’ve checked it against my Pulse-Oximeter; its very accurate.
I tried a bit of diy yesterday (ie lifting some driveway paving bricks which had sunk over time). After 10 mins of this very light work, I nearly passed out and managed to crawl down the side of our house to a covered area, threw up, and lie down for 10mins to recover. Tried again an hour later and same outcome.
So, am in similar boat to you Swimmy, although your situation is obviously more precarious.
Well done Pauline, it’s good to hear that you are still keeping fit.
I retrieved my old road racing bike from the loft and have been putting a few miles in twice per week, but I’ve missed my running so much and have been unable to run for more than a few hundred yards without walking. So I’m starting from scratch and running just one mile every day.
Although I can’t do the whole mile without walking, I’m hoping to increase the running bits until I can.
I remember Peter Sellers being interviewed by Michael Parkinson where he said that he lived in a beach front house on the west coast of America. He used to laugh at all the runners who passed his house and dropped dead of heart attacks. He died of a heart attack some months later…After being a runner most of my adult life, I survived two heart attacks, perhaps he would have survived his had he been a bit fitter. All the medical staff that treated me after my first all agreed that had I not been fit, I would not be here now…That was in 2004 and I’m still running of sorts.
Sorry to hear that Dex, apart from the sickness I find that I don’t have the stamina that I once had and need to take regular rests when doing strenuous jobs. I also go dizzy after just a few minutes of exertion.
We must accept that to live longer we need to take it easier Dex, you are worth more to your family and the forum by being here and not the alternative…
Thanks Bob. Catch 22 for me…need to be able to eat so have enough energy to be more active, which as you know will lead to being fitter which will lead to… usual loop of fitness improvement.
Will get there at some stage. Just got to do what one can for the time being and try to stave off further atrophy.
