ASormVet,
Do you weight train?
As a male in my 50s, I’m always trying to see what exercise men find the most effective for them.
Bring back Floydy
Floydy? Wow, that names a blast from the past. I got on quite well with him, wonder where he is these days.
Still in Hull I would guess
I meant what forum lol.
I love exercise. I run classes for over 50’s, some of my clients are in their 80’s. We do seated classes in salsa dance, jive, disco, its all about movement, keeping mobile. I adapt exercises to suit all body types, disabilities and ages. Many years ago i was a dancer, but due to a disability thought id never dance again. Im a wheelchair dance artist and did my first performance on wheels last Friday with a live audience. Everyone benefits from movement/exercise to retain mobility, strengthen muscles to help prevent falls, improve heart and lungs as well as lift mood and have a laugh.
You keep pumping
Yes, do a lot of Pumping, especially in the morning
Behave Spitty…
Good morning, and welcome!
You have an impressive list of activities, and it’s especially interesting that you are you are part of the fitness community that facilitates exercise and mobility for people with disabilities. Congratulations on your recent performance, too! How did it go? Are you having good luck recruiting others to participate?
There are any number of us here who are active and adapting to advancing years. I am still running most every day to stay in shape for surfing, which is a little more sporadic because of the unpredictable swells in my area. A bunch of us run a program in the summer for austistic children that has expanded to include kids with other disabilities. It’s loads of fun and gets these kids feeling a sense of freedom and success that they don’t often otherwise experience.
Thanks for chiming in!
Smart Mover.
All the way 2 >> Ping Pong.
And isn’t that the thing?
Being in an outdoor environment, experiencing sensations that apps will never provide!
Still swimming 5 times a week.
Hi, Roxy. I am still impressed that you are still at the pool five times a week. I know you have always enjoyed your walks, too. Have you gotten a new dog since you lost Daegus?
No truer truth hath been spoken
!
Oh Lord No, I don’t want another one…Ever. I know it will be a year next month but I’m still in bits over losing him. I even stopped helping at the Dog Club I just couldn’t go, I’ve not petted a dog since I lost Dageus. Daft in others eyes I know, but losing him really brought me to my knees. I’ve not long started to be able to look at photos of him, but that can still be very upsetting to do.
Oh, Roxy, what an absolutely wonderful but bittersweet picture!
I completely understand how you feel.Having a dog is about the best life has to offer, and losing one is the most painful of experiences. I know Daegus loved you too; what a life you gave him! He was a very fortunate dog and I know you feel equally fortunate to have had him in your life.
So sorry, Rox. Such a lovely fellow. We lost Max, the Collie, about a year ago. Are you going to have another?
I’ve had dogs all my life, OES, my folks used to breed them. I always had them in 2s 3s and sometimes 4, it was really heartbreaking when one passed but there were the others to take care of so it was a bit different.
Dageus was an only child just himself and me, he was my shadow for 12 years and it was different to the others. I was closer to him than the OES Clan, and when he passed I was lost.
No, I don’t feel able to have another, either physically or emotionally. I spend more time with Dunc’s Clydesdales these days.
Yes, I think I can understand that. And we our Clydesdale too.
