I don’t look my age, other than the gray in my beard. I don’t act my age. I really operate off the thought process that there is nothing I still can’t do no matter my age.
Then I take off my glasses.
Your post was going so well but then you went and spoilt it !
You know to be honest. A lot of people my age spend a lot of time reminiscing. Me, I’m too busy making new memories all the time. When I can’t make new ones, then I’ll sit around and think of the old.
To me you’re only old when you quit living and settle for being a spectator. IMHO
I completely agree with you Danny. I house two nurse practitioners, both in their early 30’s and an item, and having youngsters around again has put the spring back into my step The devoted pair were trying to save for a mortgage deposit, but rent soaked most of their savings up. All S&P pay here is their contribution to the regular bills and they are saving well so it’s all worth while.
I like some memories of times gone by, but I have been in conversations when older people do go on about people that I don’t know, or who have passed on, as if I should personally recollect them. It can get a bit awkward when it relates to “Fred’s second cousin twice removed, who married that awful women, Bella, do you remember her?”
Especially if you are talking to her.
That’s so generous of you LD
haha! Well that would be interesting!!
I’m 64 and I still feel like I’m a lot younger but my back tells me otherwise. But I still try to do things, like gardening and I can still walk the dogs 4 times a day, but can’t do the Zumba classes like i used to. I’ve been pondering whether to stop colouring my hair or not because of my grey hair, I’m worried that it will make me look a lot older. I see some women on my walks with grey hair and i think that the women would look younger with coloured hair but at what age do you stop.
Anyone would have done the same Minxy. They were really struggling and with spare bedrooms in our house, it seemed the sensible and most reasonable thing to do. They are a welcome addition to our household and have become like two extra daughters who snuggle up to me just like my own four
Edited to add … I make them both a daily lunchbox each to get them away from junk convenience foods and they tell me they look forward to opening their boxes to see what little surprise I’ve included for that day
That’s so sweet LD! I did the same for my kids and ex. Good memories!
You’ve a heart of gold.
Not according to some in OFF … LOL!
Thankfully OFF isn’t reality
You stop when it doesn’t make you happy. I think a good cut with grey hair looks very classy and elegant, personally. But you keep colouring it if you like it…there are no rules with us women!
Errr…Its real to me
