Nicol is a name found used for both boys and girls. It is one of a few variants of the masculine name Nicholas which is of Greek origin and is said to mean ‘peoples victory’. It is made up of the Greek elements ‘nike’ meaning victory and ‘loas’ meaning people.
It is a boys name too. How about that.

This is most interesting. I like the name but usually see it spelled with an ‘e’ at the end. A man’s version Nicolas or Nicholas but I rather like the unisex version Nicol. It’s quite nice.
