Thank you for sharing your fascinating story, Boot!
A lot of detail in your experience and it has similar comparisons to other homes I have lived in, where you ‘know’ it’s there, but can’t prove it without a modicum of doubt creeping in.
Reading this account brings back so many memories for me.
At least he was not not on the “pull”, you could see right through him.
Thank you for sharing, summer!
A encounter that is shared makes it easier to believe it happened.
One thing I do recall from when I was younger and we had ‘a lot of disturbances’ in our home at the time, was when my late grandmother came to stay. I still adhere to it to this day. As I sat by her watching ‘Songs of Praise’, she said, ‘when you are lone in the house and someone calls your name, do not answer. If you do, you will allow what is waiting outside, permission to come inside.’
As you know I am over 50, and four times in my life I have not responded.
There is another photo that was taken by my friend outside our Lounge window, which appears to be some funny looking face looking through our window, which looks quite scary.
Hi
I am cynical scientist, somewhat reluctant to believe I things for which there is no known explanation.
It was the nature of my old job to do exhumations, and that means seeing things that I cannot explain
A wonderful true story called The verticle plane written by Ken Webster he bought a cottage in Wiltshire England. The book had a village map.and the cottage is named on the map . Ken started renovations , poltergeist activity started and hauntings, objects thrown , furniture piled high , until the former owner made contact from the 1500s he was upset at his home being knocked about , yes he still lived there . The two learned to live together In harmony, the old man was a professor and Ken was able to actually find him in the archives of the local museum.
An interesting story for sure
Spooky.
Very spooky!
Do you think the mug moving was due to some unexplained phenomena?
Do you have other para-normal activity in your home?
I have seen mugs slide across a worktop when liquid from a dribbling kettle or teapot has reduced the surface tension beneath the mug - but they don’t usually slide in a straight line for such a long distance! - have you checked that worktop with a spirit level?
puts the shivers up you when your there watching it. no it actually is how it hapened and the worktop is level.
Thank you for sharing this video!
Did you set up the camera aimed at the kitchen counter top because you knew that was where the main activity was?
Yes kept hearing a strange noise night after night so set the camcorder up and captured this. prevoiusly I caught dancing dice
I tend to think of Andrew Green’s volume Our Haunted Kingdom when it comes to ghosts.
The man might have been a fantasist but it’s a jolly good read.
I know I just joined recently but just admit I was expecting to be able to follow people I like and in particular find a way to reply privately to members I’d like to discuss things further.
As @M44 said, the Paranormal is an amazing field and sharing stories off-site would be lovely.
BTW I’m currently using Spirit Box free Android app and I get great EVPs and I’m subscribed to Mosley Paranormal on YouTube.
If you know how to reach people who’d be interested in reading these experiences “Souls Encounters” my experiences with spirits at a funeral home and “Paranormal Essay” the experiences lived by my maternal grandparents and my own mother in her childhood. Cheers!
Best to not get involved would be my advice. Having once been scared from something that appeared real at the time I try and avoid anything to do with it,let alone discussing it.
I’ve had so many experiences with each and every death from the age of 6 through 13. Then in my young adult years, there was a house I moved in with mother which belonged to sibling, it was haunted.
Another house in the same area, years later, caused some weird occurrences. I knew it was time to walk away.
One thing in particular I’m good at. Visiting potential houses for lease or purchase, I can tell within the first few minutes if it has a good atmosphere or if it gives bad vibes. In the years with hubby it happened twice. One was so bad, I wouldn’t even get out the car to visit.
Later in we’ve found out that the last tenant had done some louche things and died in the house. Yes, the spirit was still there and very angry.
Ten years later, we learned that it went up in flames without any arson. It’s still an unsolved case…
I block anything like this out. I think it’s more likely to happen if you are an open channel. 3 of us were staying in a haunted Italian monastery when we were 18 on a group holiday. One friend saw a presence physical manifestation and felt it go into her body and try to make her feel what it was feeling. (suffering and distress), another friend felt herself being strangled in her bed at night. I woke up with a strange (orange) mist in the room, felt as though I was being gassed with chloroform or something similar. Found it hard to breathe. This was all happening around the same time. We know there was a ghost because we heard one of the rooms was sealed for that reason. Nobody was allowed to sleep in that room. Perhaps whatever spirit was feeding from our teen angst energy. I’m pretty sure there is a scientific explanation for such phenomena. We just don’t have enough understanding yet.
Agree about knowing without anything tangible other than the ‘feeling’ something is wrong.
Have been in a property when the feeling was ‘uncomfortable’ and ‘invasive’.
Last straw was when I was in the shower from work, and heard the front door open and close, then the usual click of the light switch, and the hustle and bustle when someone arrives home, like when the bag hits the floor, foot steps shuffling around, the opening of the fridge door rummaging for food, the cups clinking against each other preparing for the usual cuppa. Thought it was the other half, so thought nothing of it. However, after coming out the shower, I was met with a house In complete darkness, we moved soon after. That was a bit too brazen for our liking.

An incredible experience indeed.
