Bought myself some plums, they’re not Victoria, which I prefer but - as you say - better than “baddies.”
NG.
NG darlin’ go look at the recipe I posted on the food and drink topic about plum sponge pudding and custard - makes a delightful ‘pudding’.
Not on your life UJ, get thee behind me saton!
Precisely NG darlin’ - I’m the devil iincarnate!!!
Nah, you’re a pussy cat, a sweetie…
I’m over my binge now back on the straight & narrow…
Like this NG darlin??? /www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5_mzz-9i3g
my body seems to go into starvation mode was ill last month didn’t eat (no one to fix anything) for almost a week and put on a stone in weight , badly need to loose weight too
Join us here Seaspirit, we all try to support each other - whilst Uncle Joe plays the devils advocate…
We usually post any losses or gains in the Weight Losses thread, usually on a Saturday.
Yes darlin’ BECAUSE you’re not eating at regular intervals, your body is storing any fat it does have because its not certain when it will be fed again. If you eat regularly you will lose weight again as your body disgards the excess fat.
That’s odd seaspirit:confused: --It would be impossible to put a stone of fat on in a week.
Do you have a problem with water retention?
If you do cut down on refined carbohydrates ie. sugar and starchy food it could help as this causes you to hold onto fluids.(unless it’s medical reasons).
Took the words right out of my mouth. I didn’t lose any weight after not eating through being unwell etc but I can’t for the life of me see how you could have gained a stone.
Sure your metabolism slows down to conserve fat but I can’t see how you can put it on if you are not eating anything.
I lost weight when I had no appetite for about a fortnight after recovering from a nasty bout of gastroenteritis.
T’was the cream doughnuts after lunch, the mid-afternoon biscuits and the box of choccies in the evening while watching television that did it
Me too dandysmom–I once had a dose of flu for a fortnight. Flu like I have never had before or since. I lost a stone and went down from just over 9st. to barely over 8 st. I looked absolutely ghastly.Gaunt with drawn hollow cheeks.I don’t want to look like that again. Sure you can lose weight when you are ill but you don’t look so good.
In which case Rueben darlin’ am NEVER going to look ill, am far to weighty for that - over 15st!!! and just LOVE my food!!! - the word diet does not appear in my lexicon and I have not the faintest idea of its meaning!!!
I was ‘nil by mouth’ for three and a half weeks in hospital and when I got out, I joyfully got on the scales - had only lost 4lbs disappointed? you bet I was.
When I was recently in hospital I lost about 10 pounds: quite a few days before procedures when it was liquids only, and the food on regular days was so bland, barely seasoned and uninteresting that I didn’t eat much. I am too thin now, eating like mad to try and out it back!
I am too skinny too, have to drink those horrible calorie drinks. I reckon if I follow Uncle Joe’s advice that’ll put the weight on. (I am still under 6 stone)
Whoa Maryl, that doesn’t sound good. Yes you need lots of stodge - suet puddings, fry-up breakfasts, plenty of good wholesome red meat lunches or dinners, cheese & biscuits and doughnuts or cake.
I had a cardiac catheterization while in hospital, and as it showed my arteries weren’t clogged with plaque I feel free to eat as many fattening things I love (especially cheese!! :D) to try and get some meat back on my bones.
