Twink, that is awful. Has anyone been yet?
Crumbs … that sounds nasty. I’d be stood standing anxiously at my window watching, waiting for it drop lower.
It was a good idea to contact the fire brigade.
It must have been cold this morning - my central heating came on even though I’ve got the t/stat turned down really low. (Frost setting kicked in?)
Steady snow throughout the day - around two inches of the stuff, but no more on the horizon if the weather forecasts are anything to go by. Around -4c tonight apparently, so the snow won’t shift any time soon.
Gosh we are warmer than you tonight - 0 degrees up here later on. No snow either. Ahh, how the tables turn.
I’ve got a carpet of snow … and very pretty it looks too.
That’s because I’m on high ground on top of the Pennines, we always cop it up here. Surprisingly, my old mum who only lives around two miles away in a valley hardly gets any snow.
Sometimes there’s an actual line between Glasgow and where I am, where that happens…Glasgow gets snow and it stops just outside of my (sheltered) town…its the weirdest thing. Valleys are the same I’m guessing…sheltered and protected.
Snow. And right now they’re letting fireworks off for the switching on of the Christmas lights … it just made my window rattle.
Fireworks for flicking a switch? Country’s gone nuts The snow looks pretty though…
Just been relentless rain today. Managed two walks earlier, but the third was about an hour ago and all our stuff is wet and hanging up to dry. She did do her toilets though, and if it stops briefly later I could get her out the front for a last wee.

Nice photo Morty…
Somebody came at 1.30 yesterday morning, but it took 4 phone calls yersterday ,from me ,to establish that they have checked the pipe insulation & say it is safe to use the power . They will be back during the next few days to re-attach the bracket & put the exposed wires back under my roof!

You are right Morti, it was a good thing I called the fire brigade! They called me back around 5pm to establish if I had power, so I explained that Scottish power had now checked it and told me that it was safe to use the power … although why didn’t they tell me that earlier?
Surely they can put a brief note on computer, against my complaint ref number & it would have saved a lot of everybodies time.
Nobody goes in my front garden so I am hoping the live wire won’t be touched before they raise it in the next few days!

Ours being old style, they have nothing but the weight that keeps them on the roof…or off when the wind blows strongly…
Goodness Di, it looks like a scene off ‘Escape to the Chateau’…
