Apart from one or two sleet showers nothing has happened much here yet.
I’ve fished out one of my favourite webcams … and I’m going to sit and watch the hypnotically undulating Restless Temple ( in Cornwall) to see if it gets lively.
Have you anything to report yet?
Flying sheds or roof tiles? Wheelie bins escaping off down the road?
We had heavy snow this morning and it is now blowing a gale. Our lights are going. in and out. I have candles looked out but can’t find matches. Don’t fancy going out to shop. There is also a high tree in the wind path which is a worry.
Here in Lancashire there was rain early this morning but it cleared up about 11-00 and has been sunny for the rest of the day; and just the usual amount of wind
Here in Northants its been cold all day with an icy breeze blowing.
Heck of a hailstorm this afternoon though short lived, with big hailstones bouncing off the roofs and pavements.
It is during tonight and most of tomorrow that the gales are forecast to hit us.
I always worry about the roof tiles or tv ariel taking off, so not looking forward to it.
Most places have a yellow weather warning, but some have gone into an amber one now.
Oh, it has just said on the news that some parts of Scotland and N.E. Yorkshire have a red warning now, too.
It’s really heavy going up here, 90mph winds with sleet and snow. The ocean is throwing up waves like I’ve not seen before and we have been put into a Red Weather Warning, ie loss of life, it’s quite scary. We are under orders to stay at home… All ferries ect are off.
Quite scary here in Aberdeenshire as well Rox. Pitch black out there but I can hear a chain saw going out the back somewhere. I don’t think I have heard a gale like this since January 52.
Rained most of last night and a greater part of today up here in the Pennines, apart from a break of around two hours this PM. Now back to stormy weather and gale force winds. Snowing tomorrow apparently - good job I’ve got my shopping in for the week.
