Will Smith smacks Chris Rock live at the Oscars

He still is. His standup routines at comedy clubs are hilarious (unless you don’t like the excessive expletives)

I’ve just been reading how some other presenter on there had a dig at Brad Pitt and the age differences between him and his partners. Didn’t go down too well by all accounts.

What did the police find when they dusted Chris Rock’s face?

Fresh prints.

Well, I guess on a positive note, I do not need to google Chris Rock to see who he is. That slap has promoted his image beyond inconsequential nobody, to inconsequential nobody who got a slap from someone else at the oscars.

And I bet those running the oscars loved it. As it got them some publicity for something more interesting than who was wearing what.

And could this the most interesting thing to happen around the Hollywood lovies since the conviction of Bill Cosby & Harvey Weinstein?

If he’d genuinely been in an outraged temper over his wife like he’d claimed he probably would have

Whereas I think this was a carefully planned publicity stunt and the slap, if it made connection at all, was just for show

I bet we’d never have heard the end of the grizzling and moral outrage if Rock had chinned him back, which is what he had coming for being such a publicity whore princess

Easy to act the tough guy when you’re sure they won’t give you some back.

Try slapping someone like that down the pub on Saturday night in Camden Town, Will, then we’ll see how tough you are and who gets knocked cold!

In my early 20’s I had a few years when I earned part of my living working nighclubs, bars & private parties doing door work. And between that & few years working in a lively & very busy beachside bar. I have seen & resolved a few fights.

Given Will Smiths anger, which is a real weakness in a real fight & Smiths’s idea of what a punch is. I’ll put my £5 on Julie Andrews if he ever tries that on her.

Yes it is fair because on this occasion I believe I am right :white_check_mark:

Yep, first thing I thought of, too. I watched it in real time, and thought Will Smith’s face as he left the stage was telling. Pathetic waste of the the viewer’s time…I never cared for Smith at all.

Or if the white person had been Chris Rock.

The smiths are a pretentious pair hes a good actor though.

I would have done exactly the same if he’d made a joke about a medical condition that V might (or might not be) suffering from and we hadn’t told many others about.

JPS’ hair loss is, apparently, well-known:

OK, but that’s still no reason to make a joke about it on such a public stage like that IMHO.

Usual embarrassing tear filled apres Oscar speech by Smith .

Any publicity is good publicity.

Well … I would certainly not want to be with someone so foul mouthed or so violent.

Me neither …I’d feel damn humiliated too … guys can support their loved ones in better ways than strutting about like the big He-Man.
