When I was small our house had no central heating and only a fire with a back boiler in the front room .
The bathroom was like an ice house . My mother bought a Dalek like paraffin stove to warm the place up . It was lovely , the ideal place to go and read !
This only lasted a short while my mother was having none of that and the bathroom returned to its unwelcoming self where no one lingered longer than necessary .

Every bathroom should have a supply of good disposable reading material .
My grandparents had cut up squares of newspaper on a nail.

No, never read anything while on the toilet Arty, it would be like answering your mobile phone while in church…A very good place to think though, and sort out what to do for the rest of the day, and also think about what happened yesterday…
I’ve had some very good ideas while sitting on the toilet…

Yes, Foxy. I agree about a good place to think of things l need to do but by the time l get out of there, l’ve forgotten them!! :laughing:
