One of the most annoying things I find on all photographic forums . The applies to new and long time members equally, They ask questions about which lens etc but hardly ever mention which camera they want to put it on.
This happens mainly with new members then don’t come back having recieved replies.
panasonic LUMIX Leica DG Macro Elmarit 45mm F/2.8 ASPH from Japan [ N MINT] just ordered this lens cost £200
here in the UK £587, so got another bargain
£200 is what I paid for mine (used). Here it is on my GX80.
The 42.5mm f/1.7 is a nicer lens in many ways. About half the size & weight, bigger aperture too.
Here it is on my GX800.
what is it like for photographing small insects etc. That 1.7 version is not a macro lens which is what I was after.
I inherited a hassleblad full kit & kaboodle, but it’s kinda wasted on me as I know almost sod all about photography. Mrs LD seems to get more out of it than me but she doesn’t want it given to her as it was left to me by a lifelong friend from boarding school.
True. The Leica 45 is a macro, the Pana 42.5 isn’t. The Leica gives you 1:1 magnification and therefore officially is a macro lens, but don’t expect too much.
I don’t want to put you off, you’ll enjoy it, maybe think about additional magnification, a Raynox?
