I would need to go back over 40 years ago
By petite soiree do you mean any of things like friends round for apero, or quick couple of drinks in a pub, or going round to friends for an apero, or a more serious session?
For me, being out in the country, the social interaction of catching up with folk I know over a glass or two (and maybe canapes) is very important. So this is a weekly or twice weekly thing - regular beer with friends on Friday in local bar, ad hoc catch up over a glass during the week, larger get together just because it seemed like a good idea.
So in answer to your question - yesterday (ad hoc glass because we were passing). And next one coming up - this evening (half dozen folk coming round as we’ve not seen them for a bit).
I don’t recall ever having one.
I need to get out more. Yet another saying, I’ve had to Google!
“Petite soiree” is a French phrase that translates to “small party” or “little evening” in English. It can also refer to a quiet evening or gathering.
Your social life is grand. Petite Soirees a plenty.
Over 40 years ago I was doing binges and benders. You’re only young once.
It’s a regular and welcome get together with assorted friends for me.
I love it when I get a text saying, “When can we have a bite to eat and catch up”?
“Haven’t spoken in a week or so”, where and when?
“Meet you for a gab fest at “Golden Roast” for coffee.”
“Table for five at Club 55?”
See? I will gladly accommodate the where and when, as I live alone and free!
Not since GĂ©rard and Michel came out for a drink.
