You never eaten a Witchety Grub?
Cooked on the open fire?
Tastes like scrambled eggs.
[]
Worth a try Bretrick, Iāll have a go at most things as long as they are cookedā¦
If I lit an open fire in my neck of the woods and proceeded to roast grubs of any variety questions would be asked.
I really donāt want to be some kind of celebrity in the local press
Iām the shy retiring type.
I spent a few months in Turkey. I was invited for dinner with about half a dozen managers. We had the initial course of raw cauliflower. Or I thought it was. It was sheepās brainā¦
As soon as I saw Turkey, Sheepās Brain came to mind.
Sickly and disgusting.
How was the taste?
Brains! another delicacy denied to me, very hard to get these days. Pig or sheep I donāt mind.
Thank goodness heart is still easy to get!
Iāve mentioned it before but my one gastronomic failure was some deep fried cockroaches and grasshoppers I bought from a stall in Cambodia. Total failure! I just could not put the cockroaches in my mouth.
Quiches, more than one piece makes me feel sick
There wasnāt much taste - it was the texture or rather the absence of it.
Stop it. I am reading this while having a meal. Biryani Rice and a fresh Paratha.
Love me a quiche. Thrown together with what ever is in the fridge, and those erbs and spices found in the back of the pantry.
as i meandered round Morrisons i got an urge for Belly Pork, there was non to be seen so i went to the Butchers counterā¦lolā¦ no prizes for gussing whats for dinner here tonightā¦
Oh God! I hate belly pork with a passionā¦
Good all the more for those who enjoy itā¦lolā¦ luckily there is no food i hate, army training i think
Sweet potato, swede unless itās mashed with butter and milk. Celeriac. Other veg is ok.
Not my favourite either.
Plantainsā¦I have tried but not for me, too slimy and waxy.
Iāve tried belly pork Foxyā¦ twice , itās just horribly fatty.
I agree Chilli, I once ordered it in a restaurant by mistake, it doesnāt seem to have any nutritional value whatsoeverā¦And it doesnāt taste of anything.
I wasnāt in the army Crabby, but there isnāt much food that I donāt like and Iāll have a go at anything onceā¦Belly pork failed itās one chance. So if I want to keep the contents of my stomach in place Iāll pass on the Belly pork.
Soup is just a more healthy version of a microwave ready meal. Depending on the soup, they are packed with a selection of healthy vegetables and it comes in a can ready to be warmed up in a pan on the hob. A couple of slices of toast and thatās lunch for me on most days. I donāt like beer.
