When it comes to food, what do you find inedible?

The chef had made a very tasty coating for the ear, so the actual taste was ok. The ear was not slimy but the cartilage had not broken down so it was bad chewy. Not satisfying chewy but more I’m trying to break this with my teeth but its not playing ball. There may be potential in this dish if he can break down the cartilage first and ideally get a crispiness to it.
I’m with you on tripe. It is without merit in any dish, form or cooking. As Meatloaf might say, I’d try anything for a meal but I won’t do that.

Personally I can’t eat welks or eels, jellied or otherwise. I’ve never tried haggis so don’t know if I could eat that. Hate kippers, all those bones, but I can & do eat marmite & bovril. Both lovely on toast. :grinning: :grinning:

I adore the smell of kippers … it’s eating them that is the bad bit. As you say … bones galore.

I love the smell of a good curry but don’t really like eating them.
Bacon frying, now that tastes as good as it smells.

I think the reduced to clear on the label gives us a clue.

Stull, hang onto them … they might come in handy if there’s ever a nuclear war and all food is fair game for a hungry human.

I tried haggis while in Scotland, and I quite like it! I would recommend it to my friends, but they’d have to travel to UK to find any. Hmmm, there’s another trip to be considered.

I’ve had genuine Scottish Haggis a couple of times, just didn’t fancy eating the skin. And proper Black pudding.

The first time I had haggis was in a restaurant in Dingwall, Scotland enroute to a B&B in Strathpeffer, Scotland. Sorry to say, my first experience with haggis did not turn out well. We went on to stay 2 weeks in in a B&B in Strathpeffer ,Scotland, who on our last night served a traditional Scottish Tea which featured haggis, and it was quite delicious. I brought this up with our hostess, and she explained her haggis was made with a goose berry sauce, it was quite nice to say the least. Haggis is primarily a Scottish dish and is not commonly found in Ireland (except Dublin), except maybe on Burns Night (January 25th).

Humm, mmmmmm! Brussel sprouts and broccoli are two of my favorites foods.
I even pass up ice cream occasionally and have broccoli with butter and pepper for a nighttime snack.

My dinner in Scotland , haggis, before I tried a skit with another tourist traveling with us.


Things like Sprouts and Broccoli I like with lashing of cheese sauce.

Yeah, Sprouts and Broccoli two of my favourite veggies too.
We used to celebrate the New Year at this hotel in Scarborough and on the menu of the six course banquet was Tatties and neeps. It was delicious!
