What's on Netflix

Thanks for the tip. I’m reading the boy in the woods. He is a very engaging writer. Will look this up.

I’m still watching parenthood, it’s been a nice escape from all the bad news in the real world!

Yep read that a while back - good book

A few posts back I mentioned “Nobody Wants This” I am enjoying it more than I can say. Not a big fan of Rom Coms usually, I will watch them if there is nothing else but this show really appeals to me for some reason.

Far from being a half hour filler I have watched a couple of episodes in one day, sadly there are only 10 episodes but Netflix says another series is coming

Hmmm I watched half an episode and meant to get back to it.

Meanwhile I’m falling for the K Drama. No one does this kind of soapy drama like the Koreans.

I’ve finally watched this after seeing all the kerfuffle on the news about the show. It’s very well directed, the way the cold reality creeps up on you. But a difficult watch and leaves me in need of a happy fix. So I tried book club 2. What a let down!

It started off well but went badly downhill after episode 2 in the end I could not recommend it.Slow and poor ending.

On the other hand I loved “Nobody Wants this” and watched a couple of episodes at a time. So much for my half hour filler

I watched 5 episodes and cringed at the religious-cultural stereotypes in the script. I am not sure whether it was deliberately staged to patronise viewers or meant to be viewed as a tongue in cheek send up of cultural stereotypes. It comes across as both and for me that gets in the way of the story.

We’re going to give that series a try this evening. The premise sounds interesting, and it’s rated 8.4 on IMDB.

They were discussing this on the radio today and they took the first take on every scene. Perhaps that’s what gives it a feeling that you are in the room watching real life, a fly on the wall.

I’m a bit fed up with the amount of publicity this show is getting. Yes it’s an important topic, but it’s fiction and it’s being treated as fact and the constant discussions are very repetitive.

watching Chesapeake shores now. Another family saga in a beautiful setting, good for escaping from reality.

We watched the first two episodes this evening.

I would think the issues presented in the miniseries would apply more to juniors and seniors than to 13 year olds, who are probably freshmen. Or maybe kids grow up faster today.

I don’t want to give anything away, for those who haven’t seen it yet, so I won’t say anything more about it.

I’m going to give “The Leopard” a try.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get to do this though, I’m so hooked on Parenthood, everytime I log in to Netflix, I just automatically click on that!, and end up spending the whole evening watching about 3 episodes. I used to do the same thing with “This is Us”, but at least Parenthood is not so dramatic.

We watched the rest of Adolescence this evening. I think a better title for it would have been ‘Worst Birthday Ever!’

I can’t remember if I mentioned this before but on Netflix "Rake"is an excellent series to watch. It is hilarious, well written, good acting.

unfortunately not yet available in the UK Bruce.

Laughed at that line “I would have loved you with all the feebleness of my heart”

It is supposed to be based on a real life barrister

If you’re in the mood for a Nazi movie, this one is pretty good.

On the brink of the Second World War, a young Norwegian man’s drive to resist the Nazis sets a new course for his future – and the future of his country.

Scarlett Johansson in The Nanny Diaries. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday Night.
