I found this on netflix yesterday and found it had been a show that had been switched off halfway through watching. That was the case with the Empress too so might give it another go.

This is the current watch that I would recommend if you want something a bit more lighthearted - Joanna Lumley, opera singing and some stunning Scottish Highland scenery
yes this is really good so far. I saw Keira Knightly promoting it on (I think) Graham Norton.
It gets more and more silly.

Started watching Black Doves, released this week. A lot of the F word.
Ah, I see someone has already mentioned it.
Just started Black Doves started off with a bang. Looks good.
Watched The Painted Veil last night … a 2 hour movie from a few years ago. Good.
The Light Between Oceans next? Another movie in a similar vein, I think.
It’s reminding me a bit of Mr and Mrs smith. The scene where she is face timing her daughter whilst simultaneously fighting off two faux police officers…
If I’ve got this right … one of those fake cops gets a knife in the knee, next minute she running around like a mad thing!

it’s also quite amazing that in the scene where they leap out of the assassin’s flat just before the bomb goes off, there is that handy water feature they can safely jump into from 3 floors up!
They were lucky, only just made it in time.

that looked like it was not a happy watch. I’m trying to find uplifting things on netflix and it’s either all doom and gloom or Christmas channel cookie-cutter romance repeats. Looking forward to the new series of virgin river

This was an amazing film - thanks for the recommendation.
Have been watching La Palma - very action-packed and amazingly I didn’t realise this island existed.
I always wanted to go back to La Gomera which is stunning, but now I also want to go to this island as it’s meant to be fantastic for star gazing. Although it really does have a volcano and it has been erupting in recent years. I have a friend in Iceland who is always posting live eruption videos. They seem to carry on regardless there.
Anyway this (Norweigian) limited series is pretty good
