Maverick was another good Western,Jack Kelly,James Garner,Roger Moore.mostly played for fun.
Alias Smith and Jones,another.
Has anyone mentioned The Sweeny?
I must admit most of the programs mentioned here I do not miss at all particulary the American programs/comedies. I still do not like American series as the tend to be twice as long as they need to be.
That’s a good one and Minder.
Not Minder that got very annoying as it was pretty much the same story every week which was Terry getting shafted by Arthur and being to thick to realise.
You are very hard to please .
Whatabout Dr Finlay? That was Scottish.
But I am not, I am a self exiled Englishman.
And no not Dr Finlay.
oh! Why are you in exile?
Talking of Scotland brings to mind Tagart and Rebus both pretty good.
As far away, without moving abroad which on hindsight I should have done, preferably warmer, from my family.
oh! You should have gone to Tiree in the Hebrides.TheSunshine Island…
Thanks I am about as north as I can handle.
I loved Blakes Seven remember that? It had wobbly sets and dubious acting but I loved it…the kids never missed The Dukes of Hazzard and I can’t not mention my favourite sitcoms Butterfies and Only Fools and Horses
I had a mate who, at the mention of Dr Finlay would put on a female Scottish accent would say “Ooh Dr Fingerme”
High Chaparral, did you watch that?
The Generation Game
I was also going to mention The High Chaparral. And there was another tv series, like Alias Smith & Jones, that my friend and I used to watch, and fancied both the men in the main roles, but just can’t think. She has given me a mobile number or email to keep in touch, and I don’t want to phone her to ask. This will annoy me now till I remember it.
Chips?
Nah, not Chips. Taxi was another good comedy.
I’m Googling right now, but wonder if it was too obscure a show to be recognised. I’m sure one of the men was blond, if that helps, lol.
Yay, found it. Confusion over hair colour, but the show was Lancer, shown from the late 60s. Phew.
Thats back on the Horror Channel in the evenng.
