What keeps you young?
Staying on this side of the grass.

Iām afraid thereās nothing that does. I keep ageing no matter what I do. What would help to keep me going is good genes which I donāt have.
I think these words are quite relevant
āFairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If youāre young at heart
For itās hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If youāre young at heart
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart, or on itās way
Donāt you know that itās worth every treasure on Earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are, itās much better by far
To be young at heartā
I find keeping a sense of the ridiculous, trying not to complain about stuff too much, coloring my hair every 3 weeks and avoiding bright red lipstick all helpsā¦
I agree Ambre, apart from coloring the hair and the lipstick ![]()

Old Mother Hubbard had āWHATā In her Cupboard.
It canāt all be genetic, having witnessed what came before.
Having a sense of humour Azz, and not taking life too seriously.
Positive attitudeā¦If you think you can do something, you probably can.

Well said, no doubt, if you want to narrow it down to being young at heart. Thinking about it, keeping oneself young might be too tall an order. If Azz had asked: What keeps you going, he may have got different answers.
What keeps me young, well feeling younger anyway.?..My daughter, she drags me to everything, car boots, flea markets, antique fairs, towns for shopping in charity shops. If I didnāt put my foot down sheād have me out every day somewhere. She forgets how old I am Iām sure.
I am lucky to have her & to be reasonabley healthy for my age too.
That sounds like a page out of Mrs Foxās life Tiff.
Especially the charity shops with our Daughter.
Having a dog keeps me young, I have to take her out for her walk every day, so thatās my exercise. On the walk I meet other folks around the village and often stop for a chat - living alone I would go for days without talking to anyone if I didnāt go on the dog walks. ![]()
Mind you, sometimes on my return from the walks I feel even older until Iāve revived myself with a morning coffee! ![]()
I also enjoy doing the cryptic crossword in the Telegraph - that keeps my brain active too.
āYou are never too old to become younger! We donāt stop playing because we grow old;

Itās something you think about a lot more when you retire, and health issues can have an impact on life in general, for the young and the old.
Physically, i try to get as much exercise as possible by being less dependent on a car, and walking regularly into town (20 mins) and back again, or by using the stairs instead of a lift.
Having a good sense of humour, watching programmes that make me laugh (mostly), having interests and hobbies is also good for ābrainā health, and i donāt dwell on the bad stuff in the news for too long.
