It can be for any reason.
Christmas without a doubt although it doesnât quite feel the same without my beloved Sister
For many many years it was August Bank Holiday in London, always nice weather, reggae music, the smell of Afro cooking and burning weed.
Getting a bit old for it now.
Itâs not the same day each year. But itâs the day of the Eastern Invertebrate Show. I always come home with several new Tâs (Tarantulas) And often with several bargains.
Feb 2nd, Candlemas day, mid point between the winter solstice and spring equinox, dark days of winter are banished.
I used to celebrate the winter solstice. By then I was sick of the cold and wanting the days to get longer and tired of hearing about Christmas.
COVID changed that a bit. Christmas was more low-key and everyone stayed in so the temperature was less noticable under a heated blanket.
Besides that, Iâm not sure of a single day thatâs a favorite. I might have to make one up this year.
You donât need to choose a special day Butterscotch, just wait for a really good one this year, and make a diary note to make it even better next year!
It has to be Christmas day.
It is my late fathers birthday, and my grandson`s birthday, and of the course the main mans birthday.
Wow, thatâs a lot of amazing timing!
butterscotchâŠ
It certainly is,i also have a nephew,a step daughter and a friends son who also share the same birthdate, up to now anyway, as we have a couple of little ones due in December.
Boxing Day.
I love Christmas but I always think Boxing Day is so relaxed and fun.
Lots of lovely leftovers, time to enjoy your Christmas gifts, start on that new novel.
Lots of sport on the telly for the chaps, family popping in and out, lazy bath and shower with all those new goodies.
Catch up on the stuff you missed on the telly on Christmas Day. Do some of the Christmas jigsaw, play cards, nice walk and see all the children on the prom with their new toys
My cousins birthday is on Boxing Day so when we were young it was always over the theirs for Boxing Day birthday party. My auntie always did timers salmon sandwiches and jelly and ice cream
My favourite day of the year is when I donât get told off by âer indoorsâ, unfortunately this seldome comes around.
The day it finally starts to feel like summer
Hogmanay.
Boxing Day for me too.
Having had lots of children, Christmas Day was nearly always very stressful. This was mainly because l was so tired from all the work leading up to Christmas.
Boxing Day was always wonderful⊠no stress of huge preparations. Just cold meats, mashed potato and pickles!
Pudding was what was left over from Christmas Day!
My favourite day is the day we put the clocks forward in spring.
Iâd second that Carol! I was thinking I donât really have a favourite day, but this is one
21st December, the day the new light begins.
