Jigsaws. I never used to have the patience.
I do know quite a few young people enjoy them too since they discovered the joys during Covid era, but I used to hate them until a couple of years ago.
Yes, the runner you are Mr Fox. My cousins other half is also a runner, Marathons as a rule. Recently he was in the other Antipodes - the Antarctic and then Australia Younger? Around seventy.
It’s actually a musical instrument or we also use this term to refer to the handset of a home-phone. ![]()
Yes, favorite place has always been up on the mountain top which I can see from my house.
For me it’s being alone. I used to hate it when I was younger and was always in the thick of things. The past years it’s now become a thing I enjoy. I daily walked my Dageus in the forest or one of the wee sheltered Coves, often not meeting a Soul. Living on the farm in the wild north is very off putting to people who like company.
I understand what you mean, Ambre. I think life teaches us some of those lessons the hard way. Being nice to someone and actually being there for them are two different things, and sometimes you don’t realize the difference until you’ve already given too much of yourself.
I’ve learned that friendship shouldn’t feel one-sided. It should grow naturally, with both people making an effort and getting to know each other over time. I’m not in a hurry with people either. I’d rather have a few genuine connections than a whole lot of people I barely know.
I think you can still keep an open heart without giving everyone your trust straight away. ![]()
That sounds beautiful, Rose. I can see why that would be your favorite place, especially having that view right from your house. There’s something peaceful about being able to look up at the mountains whenever you want. I’d probably find myself staring at them with a cup of coffee more often than I should
. Do you ever go up there, or do you mostly enjoy the view from home?
Hi again Dennis,a question for You now young Man…You say You’re still working, but not what You actually do for a living…Methinks You’re a writer and are here asking questions about Us for Your next book…
,So…what do You think of Us so far?
You’re making me laugh, May. No, I’m not secretly writing a book about everyone here, although some of the stories would probably make a good one! I’m just genuinely enjoying meeting people and having some good conversation.
As for what I do for a living, I’m a petroleum engineer. I’m still working, so that keeps me pretty busy, but I enjoy having something productive to do.
As for what I think of everyone here so far, I’ve actually enjoyed it. There are some funny, interesting and very honest people around, and I like that you can have a laugh one minute and then have a real conversation the next.
I think the best part is that everyone has their own story and their own way of looking at life. I’m enjoying taking my time, getting to know people, and seeing where the conversations go. And I have to say, you’ve certainly made the conversations more interesting. ![]()
Isn’t a forum like that though Denis?
We actually know very little about most of the people we converse with on the forum, we trust that they are being honest…

I like meeting people on the forum, at least you can shut the lid on the laptop when you’ve had enough, good friends are harder to ignore…
You’re a shrewd woman May, well spotted, but I think we’ll leave it there…

I think as I’m 20+ years older than I was when I started using Social Sites,I’ve learned to be careful what I write about My Personal Life now as We all know what We may have divulged then could come back and bite Us on the bum
…But …as You All know I’m just a perfect wee Angel so I have nout to worry about
xx
I appreciate peace and simple moments much more now. When I was younger, I was always busy chasing goals and worrying about the future. Now, I value good health, meaningful conversations, and having the freedom to enjoy my life at my own pace. ![]()
Hello may👋 how are you doing today?
Good Evening Dennis,or is it morning where You are?

A rainy night in Glasgow

Good morning from my side, May
I’m doing well, thank you. And now you’ve got that song stuck in my head!
A rainy night in Glasgow sounds like the perfect setting for it, though. I think Brook Benton would forgive you—especially since you gave the song your own Glasgow version! ![]()

What is something I appreciate more now than when I was younger?
Time.
Ahh,time…something I have plenty of…it’s filling it in that’s My problem…Theres always lots to do in Spring/Summer/Autumn outdoors in the garden, but come Winter, the best exercise I get outdoors is shovelling snow

Not recently Dennis, I used to go there quite often during the Summer.
