What is something you appreciate more now than when you were younger?

I was thinking about how our priorities change as we get older. When I was younger, I probably worried more about having everything figured out. These days, I find myself appreciating the simple things a lot more — a good laugh, spending time outside, pets, a peaceful morning, good conversation and having genuine people around me.

So I’m curious, especially from those of you who have been around the block a few times

What’s something you appreciate much more now than you did when you were younger?

It can be anything at all — friendship, family, traveling, gardening, having time to yourself, a quiet cup of coffee, or simply waking up and having another day to enjoy.

I’ll be interested to see what everyone says.

Most days are just a blank canvas, it’s brilliant but an early night is always welcome and looked forward to.
Being a thinker, I prefer my own company and the quiet life but social when required or necessary…

Foxy, bed time is the worst place for a thinker, it can go anywhere but, experience puts stuff back in its place

I’m never awake long enough to do any thinking when I go to bed Spitty.
As soon as head hits the pillow, I’m gone.

Foxy, you have led a clean life :icon_wink:

I try not to waste time these days. .And do things. You think you’ve got time to spare when you are young.
(I consider posting on the forum as doing things.)

I can’t resist looking in to the forum everyday, I seem to have lots of ‘Groundhog’ days recently so have resisted the daily threads.

I just like spouting off early in the day, nowt more to it than that!

Peace of mind. Not having to worry about mortgage- paying bills- having to go to work. Not having to comply to orders from managers who came straight out of uni, without a clue about the job. My time not someone elses.

Well, I travelled extensively and that was interesting/enjoyable but also quite stressful at times. Now I can just be relaxed without all the pressures. But still miss the excitement - I don’t know how to explain that.
