Pretty boring housework. Cooking. Read a magazine.
Getting all comfy now to watch Sewing Bee.
Shared a rather nice Claret with a friend.
Stopped up late last night (late for me anyway) watching John Higgins Dispose of Jack Lisowski in the snooker quarter finals. What a brilliant game, neck and neck until the end. Old guys rule now for the semi’s. John Higgins, Mark Williams, Ronnie O’sullivan, and some young spunk called Trump…
Put the recycling out for collection.
Made a cauldron of Garlic soup.
De- shelled and de-veined the king prawns for tonight’s dinner and made the linguine.
Fed both cats, cleaned their teeth, trimmed their claws, and given Willow her medicine.
Need more tea and toast now!
Judd Trump - our local hero!
Brilliant snooker player Mags, and so good to watch. Beat Bingham in the quarter finals after winning 8 consecutive frames. He was world champion in 2019 and has scored 6 maximum breaks in his career so far. At 32 he is the youngest competitor to be going forward into the semi finals, the other three being former world champions and all over forty. After yesterday’s win he was quoted as saying…“I seem to have found myself in the seniors world championships!”
I’m looking forward to an exciting semi finals…
I hope he does well amongst the oldies Bob, maybe his arms won’t be as shaky as some of the old timers there!
Mr Mags is the snooker fan in our house, I just watch it when someone local may be playing.
We’re in a self imposed lockdown, we’re off to the States next weekend and have to have a negative covid , so to ensure we do we’re keeping ourselves to ourselves, so watching a bit of snooker will while away the time, its too cold to be sat in the garden reading.
Today I was happy to receive in the post the part I had been waiting for to repair my generator. The only place I could get it was on Ebay. The bulbs for the line trimmer carbies etc cost $3 to $5, this one cost $17!
You can see how the old one just fell to pieces.
Anyway I fitted it and ran the genie for about 20 minutes but it seems OK and my reconstructed piece for the fuel cap seems to work fine as well.
I rarely visit shops. And I rarely get new shoes - I wear Grisport walking boots.
Never heard of Grisport … googled and Next sell them, hmmm might take a look.
We use the internet. Price is about £130.
Went to hospital with hubby who had a hydrotherapy appointment. had coffee and read a book while he was in there.
Went to a large store and bought a slow cooker. Came home thrilled with my purchase and discovered there were no instructions and no 32 page recipe book as it says on the box. Not going back as it’s a 50 mile round trip so rang them and insisted they post them out to me.
I am not kidding - everything we buy has either got parts missing or is faulty. From cars, to flat pack furniture, to computers to craft items.
Lazy day, went to an Antique store and browsed around and bought a lovely set of wine glasses.
Had a lovely steak for lunch at a fancy restaurant. All in all, a good day
Drove Mrs Fox and friends to a fancy pub for lunch and a nag, I went home and had some soup and toast…Collected the giddy bunch of reprobates later. Came on the forum and watched snooker. The phantom builder arrives and measures me up for bricks…I didn’t recognise him it’s been so long…
Took the dog for a walk.We both got home at the same time.Which is good.
I had a bit of a lie in this morning because I still felt so tired. I felt better for it, too.
Then I had a few things to sort out on the internet, followed by my Thursday exercise class this afternoon, followed by coffee and catch up with an old friend.
Bangers and mash for tea, followed by some nice English fresh strawberries and a cuppa.
I’m happy with that.
Today we went to the dogs as usual. Next stop was to the NHS practice. Not the usual one - insufficient doctors it would seem so we had to go to a more distant practice. A bit of a pain but it’s done. Jabs for Covits, pneumonia, and shingles.
Then we went to the convenience store again for our neighbour. While we were I stocked up on cider. And then another stroll with Max.
Nice lilac bush on the way:
Coffee then shopping with a friend.
Luncheon in a Chinese Restaurant - delicious.
Went with friend for her latest Covid Booster.
More coffee
Then home to feed the cats, have a sandwich, and put my feet up!
