We have just got back from our cruise and are summoning the willpower to unpack all our stuff. Not had chance to look through my photos yet (I didn’t take many as the weather was atrocious), and we are still “coming down” from eating too much food, drinking too much and watching shows for the last week.

Hi

Opened my 3 Amazon deliveries from yesterday.

All Brilliant.

First, two adapter plugs for my electric razors.

One for my hospital bag and one for home, the shaver socket in the bathroom is playing up, less than ÂŁ4 for the pair.

A pair of jar and bottle openers recommended by the OT, they work.

A very stylish, lightweight indoor watering can with a long spout.

Great value at around ÂŁ25 for the three., delivered.

I’m back from a walk along the seafront.
Wanted to avoid the funeral .
Weather perfect ,sea a mill pond
My sister and I were the only oldies out & about , lots of under 40s and younger .

Stayed inside, TV on, watched part of the funeral, Wendy was here and we were sorting and updating all my paperwork and revaluing my assets.

Wendy is a musician and her commentary was very knowledgeable.

Watched the whole funeral, very impressed by how very well it was organised, and how well the military carried out there duties.

Yep @Vlad . I mentioned elsewhere about it being a weird experience for the next 3 kings to witness the sort of funeral they might end up with.

On reflection, I’m not sure that was true though and I sense that it’ll never happen again, not because of republicanism nor the loss of the monarchy, but more that QE2 had a historical link to the armed forces through being alive during WW2, and overseeing the decline in the empire which a lot of those uniforms are associated with (IMHO)

Today we had the groomer. She collects Max and brings him home all cut, washed, dried, - and pampered. And handsome!

I do agree, there was a connection between the Queen and her armed forces, the other Royals although wearing the uniforms don’t seem to have that bond, the uniform was just something they wore for the occasion like fancy dress. It doesn’t mean anything
