More of the same.
First day of holiday, only 6_25 am here hot and humid .
Saved £20 on a journey from Bristol to London by using a split tickets site
Went to Garden Centre this morning, bought some bedding plants.
Walked the dogs then went to the convenience/post office with some packages, some groceries for our elderly neighbour, and Scrumpy for me later on. Then I did a longer walk with the Thunderbolt. Timely since raining is coming.
Bought a new casserole dish to add to my collection, a book to add to that collection and a Nigella Lawson cookbook to weigh my shelf down even more. I can’t resist books, always been the same. I read them then when I have enough to fill a large box I put them outside for £1 each for a local charity.
Nigella’s Slowcookerbook?
been to work, been to doctors, come home and worked on my card and gift shop orders now I’m off to the post office to dispatch them then nipping up to Dads! I’m late today.
Haven’t done as much as I would have liked…
Ha ha d00d, it is called Nigella Express:rofl: supposed to be great food which doesn’t take hours to prepare. The colour photos look great.
We took delivery of a flat-pack kitchen sideboard yesterday. This morning, I opened one of the boxes to make sure all the parts were present and correct before starting to assemble it and, guess what? They’ve only sent us the wrong bloody coloured doors and drawer fronts, haven’t they? V definitely ordered silk white to match our kitchen cabinets, they sent slate grey.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Now I’ve repacked the box and sealed it back up. V has phoned the company and explained what had happened. Now another has been ordered and pick up of the old one arranged. £20 discount for our trouble and their mistake.
Bus into town. Raided the fishmonger - salmon fillets and a piece of haddock, cheesemonger was on holiday (how dare he??!!) . Resued two lost Japanese tourists, fetched a card down from a high shelf for a little old lady, met friend, had coffee in M&S - not impressed. Had lunch in W P Brown’s - ham, egg, and chips - delicious - bought a new handbag, bought 2 x TShirt type tops that I didn’t know I needed, bought a book and two small dishes in a charity shop. Bought some yum Yums and Ginger biscuits in Thomas’s bakery and scored a huge freebie sandwich - Tuna and celery - so that is tea taken care of, caught bus home again!
I’ve done Jack. OK I’ve bought some metal (tin) and had a laugh at Bitcoin crashing but that’s all.
Is tin increasing in value? (And hello! )
I worked. The end.
Me too. And tomorrow. And the next day
Story of my life…
Since last Thursday hubby has had a bad knee so I’ve been doing all the walking the boys and doing some gardening in between.
You’re lucky. My boys usually take me for a walk. YANK-a-doodle-doo…
Husband dropped me off in a seaside town while he did a job (he’s not a burglar by the way! ) and said he would pick me up in an hour. I literally went into the pharmacy bought a spray I needed and in front of me was a woman I was great friends with when we were 16/17. I have seen her just once in the last 50 years when we became friends on FB about 5 years ago and met up.
We then went for a coffee and a catch up and talked about when we were SLIM and attractive and wore loon pants, cheesecloth smocks and went to see all the top bands of the day together. We laughed so much and it was great to catch up. You never think you get older do you?
Then I met hubby and we ate fish and chips in the van overlooking the sea.
