I watered the veg and the greenhouse plants first thing, might need to do it again though later…
I bought some on sale petunias to replace the ones I bought a couple of days ago that got eaten by the slugs . Trying a different colour .They loved the red ones trying purple .
Started picking the raspberries, loganberries and redcurrants.
Weeding a border to plant some more cosmos, Snapdragons and pot marigolds, did well this year with the Snapdragons.

Got some new pruners yesterday (I think thats what they are called) and trimmed back the big bush around the tree in the garden. It was really enjoyable snipping away but still needed to use the mulched as I got a bit carried away.
Looks a lot better but still needs more work so I’ll attack it again tonight after work. There is loads of ivy that needs pulling out too and a few holly branches so could get bloody and messy
I sat on our wooden garden bench for some time and never saw a bee-wasp or butterfly,don’t know if it is too early in the year but our Budlia are in full bloom which normally attracts them
We have quite a few bees around here, they tend to be hanging out around the dahlias.
Looking for what I would call an old fashioned cottage garden rambling rose , any suggestions folks ?

Garden centre today to replace the calibrachoa the slugs and snails have devoured . Got a beautiful digitalis ,lobelias and a verbena so if it’s not raining tomorrow I can plant them.
Finished weeding a border and tomorrow put the plants in.
Yesterday morning picked some pink currants, raspberries, loganberries, gooseberries and a few blueberries. In the afternoon i finished off the border and planted the rest of the Snapdragons and pot marigolds.
Got soaked - it is pouring down!
Watched it grow.
Just clipped the side hedge and cleaned up afterwards, I was going to turn the compost heaps but it’s too hot now, think I’ll leave that for another time…
