What have you done in the garden today?

Yes that’s the theory I’m about to put into practice!

Mowed the lawn, transplanted a few strawberries, and watered some pots. Things are getting quite dry here with no rain for a while.

Finally finished dividing the last of my Agapanthus, so next job will be topping up about 7 or 8 tubs of Camellias, Rhodedenderons, Pieris and Magnolias with fresh ericaceous compost and feed.

I did general maintenance weeding and edging some of the lawn. I had a rose arch delivered yesterday so I will be busy with that today…I’ll take some photos…if I remember

I started killing off the ivy, which has taken over much of my fences,.

After a couple of days cutting off the shoots near the ground, I realised that the fence was pretty rotten, anyway.

So, now I have most of the Ivy dying off but al the fencing will probably collapse when I’m done.

Lose/Lose situation!

Finished topping up all the ericaceous shrubs except the Pieris, so will get that done today.
I also have some Penstemons to get in the ground and then I really need to start repotting my 11 indoor Carnivorous plants.
I have now got the special compost and some sphagnum moss to mix in.

Eventually I also need to make a start on repotting and tidying up my various African Violets.
Its never ending!

Wondered who the hell has crushed a lot of the catnip plants in the large planter?
Smiled at the intelligence of the crows and jackdaws getting to the various feeders I have hung about.

Ive potted up some self seeded Lobelia i found in a pot of Daffs , theres also something else growing , not sure what it is , but I know its not a weed…

everything in the green house that Ive grown from Seed are doing tremendously well , Ive surprised myself. And the Double Petunias are so big a plant now (which I bought as plug plants) I think they need to slow down, maybe if I open a window slightly during the day, another 4 weeks before planting out .

Busy busy, planted up some ornamental grasses in the borders, ferns in pots and bought 8 yellow Osteospernum for £9:99 at Costco, I plan to take some cuttings from them.

Hi

Wendy has been very busy and the back garden looks much better.

Lawns mowed, lots of perennial geraniums dug up and taken away as plant swaps, some new perennials planted and yet more seeds in.

All in all, a very productive day.

Every silver lining has a cloud.

The wife potted on some wall flower seedlings, I watched.

Did a lot of weeding in the back garden, trying to catch up with it.

Whacked the weeds that purport to be our front lawn with my weed whacker. They were mighty strong weeds, they broke 3 plastic cutting blades!
