Anyone remember Blakey’s segs?
Horrible things, not compatible with crocs or carpet slippers. 
I go barefoot indoors, and often in the garden and outdoors too. Although there was that awful day when I was putting the bins out and I trod on a slug……it sort of squished up between my toes 
In other people’s houses I take my shoes off on the way in if it looks like that’s what they like, or ask them if they would like me to
But as for our house, I wouldn’t dream of telling people they had to take their shoes off! What about elderly people who can’t easily or the poor gas man?
A bit of dirt never hurt anything, you can always clear up and I’d rather have an easy going house full of sometimes mucky but relaxed people than a show home with lots of rules 
I like to wear boot slippers, or if it’s warm just my white socks.
You go barefooted in winter?.
I wear that type of mule indoors Meg but the soles do drag on carpeted floors .
Whatever happened to what I call proper soles ?
Around the house & garden, I am normally barefoot.
