There is a story here. The figures are dolphins.
What is your opinion of this stemware?
Well I would admire them from afar because they wouldn’t last five minutes with me, I’m a bit clumsy with delicate glass things.
Not something I would buy, but they are quite pretty.
Very pretty, Surfermom, but not something I would use.
Sorry Surfer, but I must be honest and say they are not my sort of thing really.
They are not my taste, but I have 54 of them.
I found them in a box in my garage.
What would you do with them, if you were me?
They are indeed delicate, one broke away from the stem when I unwrapped it.
Take them to auction?
I would give them to a charity shop or look at selling them online if they are worth anything.
I am inclined to agree with you. What would you do with them?
Sell them on Ebay??
I would try to find out how old they are, if they have any value - they could be collector’s items maybe? Not my taste but they are very pretty.
They belonged to my husband’s aunt. We acquired dozens of boxes filled with things like these. When my MIL passed away, he put everything in a section of the garage to be sorted later and we are just now sorting through them - so many items that I will never use.
I have been thinking like you, separating items like these out to wash, wrap and give away, but…
I’d be inclined to find out who designed them and see if his/her family have any other misfits who the public need to be made aware of.
Great minds think alike. So where would I find out about these and whether or not they are worth anything?
Takek them to an antiques auction - but try and find out their approx worth first.
Yes, there might be something about a particular designer.
I thought about that, but we haven’t an antique dealer worth his salt within a hundred miles of here. Probably not worth it, right?
