Thank you daisy, yes I have heard that one before, I like most of hers, she has had a hard life I think.
Welcome Scotland! I notice your a newbie! Glad you could join us.
I’m in the middle of middle of “Powerless: The Shadowing”, the second of the three book set about a world where everyone is born with a special power, except for Mira. I will be downloading the third book in the series fairly quickly as I’ve been captivated with the saga.
I have just started “Tooth & Nail” by Ian Rankin. It’s a ‘Rebus’ novel. £2.49 in a charity shop, where I buy most books. I take longer to read books these days, computers have a lot to answer for.
No we have no mystical happenings up here( mores the pity)I read Birdsong by Sebastion Faulks a few years ago Cassie. I cant believe I dont read now, its terrible, thats why I cant spell now.
The Moghul, by Thomas Hoover … a long epic novel about the very beginning of the Raj and East India Company; good read!
My latest purchase from amazon has just arrived.
It was an Alfie Boe CD for my wife and a book called “Rivers of London” by Ben Aaronovitch for me.
Just started ‘Police, Crime & 999’ by John Donoghue. Loving it so far …will update when I’ve finished it.
ELVIS The Biography by Jerry Hopkins
At the moment I am reading First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde, I bought this a few years ago and never got round to it there was always another book i wanted to read more.
I am now finding that this book is quite amusing, it is actually making me laugh,
work and everything else is getting in the way of me reading more pages in the day.
Paperback from the library: Jeffrey Archer, Not A Penny More
Kindle - Joanna Penn , Pentecost
Both thrillers.
I have now moved onto The Blue Zone by Andrew Gross - i first came across this writer when he shared the credits on some of James Pattersons books.
This is a superby book of intrigue and twists and turns cannot put this one down either, will go straight onto his next book The Dark Tide,
Diana Gabaldon’s “Voyager”.
Tess Gerritsen - The Sinner
I have just finished reading “The Woman Before Me”…by Ruth Dugdall…It is a psychological thriller and a real page turner.
The book I have just started is “the Trouble With Alice” by Olivia Glazebrook…
Have just finished reading “This Body of Death” by Elisabeth George, and must admit I found it very disturbing. This because of the “side story” - wich obviously had so many similarities to what happened to the poor toddler James Bulger - that I could barely stand to read it (just leafed through most of these parts of the book). Some real life acts of crime leave us all scarred - and what happened to this little boy is one of those crimes.
Now I have just started reading “The Distant Hours” by Kate Morton. Just loved her other books - so really looking forward to this one.
I’m a bit of a James Patterson fan shirley, but I’ve just finished Deadlock by Sean Black which I thoroughly enjoyed, a tale of murder and mayhem by white supremacist groups in America…
I’m in the middle of “The Dresden Files” by Jim Butcher the now. It was a TV Series on the Syfy Channel a couple of years ago. I loved the Series but the Books are sooooo much better.
Michael Crichton’s Timeline. I thought I’d read all of his as they came out, but apparently overlooked this one that I just found in the library. Gripping, hard to put down. Time travel, 14th century southern France, bloodshed, intrigue, some interesting factiods mixed in! I skip over the explanation of the physics, eye-glazingly dull!
Finished reading “The Trouble With Alice” . …one comment,it was the most boring book I have ever read…
Just started to read “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett.
Finished Timeline yesterday, highly recommend it.a good read! Started another Tess Gerritsen - The Apprentice. Starting out well.
